Really nice to see that Scotty Parker is able to affect the 1st team as well as the youths....

But in seriousness, wonderful to see him back. Showed some great technique and looked comfortable for the most part alongside Dier against what was in front of them. Kind of harsh on him that he'll most likely be back to the bench on Saturday but might be the best for him fitness-wise, Poch now knows Winks is ready to either deputize or come in for the last stages of the game to freshen things up.
 
we need him in form as option, his ability to rotate with either Dembele or Eriksen is something we just don't have without him.
 
That was a great performance I thought - match ball for sure if kane hadn't have popped up with the hat trick.

Where do you think APOEL would end up in the premier standings?

If it's better for his fitness to be on the bench on Saturday fair enough. If not he should definitely start for me.

For sure they have a decent record in the CL and for 60 minutes or so looked good going forward against our make-shift defence but the critical difference was their finishing. Took the game to us well for the first hour or so until we scored our second but then their heads went down and they faded badly. That was when the real difference in class began to show.

It's hard to imagine for example that Kane would have been allowed anything like as much space for his headed goal by the likes of Burnley, Swansea, Leicester or West Brom, teams that routinely get ten men behind the ball and are intensively drilled to close attackers right down immediately the ball comes anywhere near them.

So doubt they'd survive one season tbh. Worth remembering their entire team cost just £2.5m and included an ex-Walsall player. Except of course if they were somehow to be transplanted to the PL they'd get the TV windfall millions with which to strengthen their squad.
 
I wonder if our diamond midfield will eventually consist of a first choice four:

------winks---------------eriksen
-----------------dele

I think it's possible, if Winks continues his excellent progress. Passing and movement to slice apart those stubborn teams who come to defend and play for a draw.
