Harry Winks

He's been better recently but I see him as a bit meh. A good worker, decent passer probably average in most areas but one who will give 100% effort.

He has looked infinitely better playing alongside GLC rather than Dier or Sissoko but for some reason I still remain a little unconvinced by his quality. I'm happy to have him in the squad and starting games but I don't believe he would have gotten in the 16-18 teams. [emoji848]

Yet I can't deny that I definitely think he's improving, maybe he will keep that up and ultimately prove me wrong. [emoji1691]
 
Both him and Lo Celso looked like two players who have just come off the back of 2 games (yeah I know Lo Celso didn’t start vs villa)

and Ndombele looked all over the place which didn’t help

the issue yesterday was the wing backs were actually just full backs with no wing which meant midfield was over run again
 
He could be one of them players like Henderson with the correct players around him, Henderson is bang average but he has a simple job, pass it out to the wings.
 
Think it was on here someone posted it but in the area of transitioning the ball from defence to attackers, Winks is as good as anyone. That's his job in my view in this team and when on song, he does it well. makes my pants sticky..

It was for his age can his peers in Europe (under 24)
And yeah his stats there are excellent and show he doesn’t pass it backwards like people keep on saying

What helped Carrick was he also had great players around him so he didn’t need to do some other things
He stepped up with better players and looked better because of it

To be fair Winks has had Kane, Son, Eriksen, Toby etc. I guess he needs the right guy alongside him in the two man midfield if we continue with that formation. Dier isn't the answer, neither unfortunately is Ndombele it seems although he could need more time to adjust. For England Winks looks great and I'm always happy to see him start for us. However he's a constant in the team at a time when we've look tinkle poor.

Lo Celso and Winks works for me
Ndom will when he settles and gets his head right
 
He's had games under poch where he does pass a lot sideways and backwards. Perhaps that's under instructionnas he's been passing more forwards recently. I'm one of those who's been harsh on Winks and wasbhappy to watch him turn around (literally!) his passing impact recently.
