Harry Kane MBE

Cant see him selling kane in the summer especially to strengthen a top 6 rival ... now that would give people some fuel against levy.

I think he backs himself, as delusional as he has been in building a team that can deliver, and leave kane to make his own bed.

I'm not concerned about the summer, i think he stays and then if we take steps forwards with the right manager next season then he will sign a new deal - if not he walks away at the end of the current deal.

So in a round about way he will be leaving next summer ... with much unsettling throughout the season ... not what the new manager needs tbh

Ouch. Without Kane's 24 point contribution we'd be level with Everton. I know it's not that straightforward, but man has he carried us this season.

As you say, this sort of analysis overlooks the fact that if we didnt have Kane we'd have spent the £120m-£150m fee on perhaps a top class attacker and top CB, and they'd have offset all/part of the loss of Kane

For sure, although there's no guarantee the player(s) brought in instead would've worked as well as Kane does for us - or even at all. We don't exactly have a great track record for expensive signings. But of course his replacement/the rest of the team would've chipped in a fair bit of Kane's goals, but I also think it's pretty certain we'd be mid table this season without him.

I think we would have pains when he leaves/retires and see a drop off but thats just how football is because one day will come eventually regardless. As hard as it will be life will go on and as before him I would expect the club to have a certain level, his ability will be missed for sure but then again another player and a different manager might bring a different style that offsets the loss slightly, someone with more pace who plays more on the shoulder, the intense press etc. I think there is more to the game than just taking a player out no matter how important and it being the end.

We’re mid table with him, let alone without!
