Guglielmo Vicario

There’s no two ways about it, it helps that Gabriel isn’t playing. They’re still dangerous from set pieces with or without him.

He still stays rooted to his line and seldom comes to try and catch/punch the ball. He needs to bulk up a bit IMO. He’s not exactly an imposing figure in the box.

He’s not terrible but he’s very upgradable in my opinion.

names please.

We're not going to get a 'world class' keeper due to the fact there are 9-10 clubs ahead of us in pecking order, therefore we are looking at the next rung down which Vic is comfortably in so QED stick with Vic

It’s not my job to name replacements. I find it pointless naming names as the people who like Vicario will poo poo them or find a reason to put them down.

Bit of a kop out given he is 'easily replaceable' .... must be a dozen plus keepers you could speculate about, even if they are poo poo-ed by the Vicario defenders.

Any replacement for Vicario would have the same issue of not being absolutely perfect 100% of the time.

I have seen a lot of keepers during my time watching Spurs [ going back to Bill Brown] and except for one they all came under stick at times from SOME of our fans. It goes with the job. I believe Vicario will get the same from SOME fans.

My first experience of this was John Pratt. No matter what the did, a large section just wasn’t having him

If he was very upgradeable there would be plenty of names that could be provided that you couldn't argue with if so easy to upgrade. There are a few GKs who are better, but they are at the top clubs in the world. There are several who like Vicario are good goalkeepers, but if you was watching them week after week minute after minute at this club as we all do you would soon discover they have weaknesses too. He isn't perfect, but we would do very well to get better....

Ok I’ll play along. Kelleher is someone I was gutted that we didn’t go for in the summer. He’s better than Vicario.

The guy at Milan was mentioned earlier in the thread. He’d be good.

Slightly pie in the sky but Oblak would be a great signing.

See my response to LM.
