A guy who isn’t as good a shot stopper and is probably no better with his feet
Odd link
Almost as if a fan made it up
Would be great on penalties though

This is gaining traction now. I’ve noticed since yesterday more and more reports that we’re after a “world class keeper”. was wondering when the first name would pop up
Maignan seems to have regressed at MilanIf we want a 'top' keeper who might be the other potential candidates?? I cant think of many big names.. maybe ter Stegen is no longer wanted by Barcelona, Maignan seems to want out of Milan (although I dont know much about him other than Chelsea were close to getting him last summer and he's now France no2 behind the new PSG keeper).. any other candidates?
Vicario is very good and under rated because people still think he is weak on set pieces despite being the best in the league as a team … so clearly he do doing something (and we were very good on them last season too)Kind of highlights the point about Vic - Yes he's not perfect but he's very good and we are unlikely to sign someone guaranteed to be better all round hence the best links can come up with is someone like Martinez. It's a no from me....
I'm expecting Pickford's name to appear at some point. 81 caps for England and only 31. He's definitely ironed out some cracks in his game over the years and performs at a very consistently high level.
It's all pointless to me though as Vic is himself in that same cycle of improvement. You can already see that especially with how he is starting to own his 18 yard box more. He's clearly got some leadership qualities that the manager's love. I'm not sure why you would look beyond him as he comes into his prime and is completely assimilated to the PL. He is clearly a top professional.

And people want a ball playing keeper but there really really ain’t many who can pass and do the fundamental role of keeping the ball out
So is that an excuse if we do well?He is still weak at set pieces. We will see how he copes on Sunday against arguably the best team in Europe when it comes to set pieces. Lucky Gabriel is injured though.
Pickford who let in 2 set pieces against us in the same game where Vic made several unreal stopsI'm expecting Pickford's name to appear at some point. 81 caps for England and only 31. He's definitely ironed out some cracks in his game over the years and performs at a very consistently high level.

I mean we are officially the best in the league at dealing with them
And we were right up there last season too even under Ange
And that’s not me saying he is perfect on them but I’m highlighting that he has changed his game somewhat but people haven’t changed their opinions
There’s no two ways about it, it helps that Gabriel isn’t playing. They’re still dangerous from set pieces with or without him.
He still stays rooted to his line and seldom comes to try and catch/punch the ball. He needs to bulk up a bit IMO. He’s not exactly an imposing figure in the box.
He’s not terrible but he’s very upgradable in my opinion.
He isn’t the reason we’re currently the best in the league on set pieces but because he saves the chances that do come… he is part of it
I actually can’t think of a keeper that is good at set pieces in the way you describe because they mostly don’t play like that now
Donnarumma comes to mind.
Knew that would come
Did you see the recent set piece debacles he has had
He looks confident on them but was known for being flappy even in France
I think it’s more to do with how teams are set up defendingHaven’t seen much of his displays in France other than in the CL. I don’t get why keepers aren’t more assertive in the box. They’re never going to get penalised they’re essentially a protected species.
