Barry Daines
No clean sheet on his debut as once again blocked at a corner which went straight into his net
That was weak from him imoNo clean sheet on his debut as once again blocked at a corner which went straight into his net
Why is there no defender in there pushing the forward away from him?No clean sheet on his debut as once again blocked at a corner which went straight into his net
It is an infringement to any other keeper, seems the refs don’t like Vicario. How is that not an "infringement"?
There was a time where you could not touch a keeper once he was going for the ball.
He is great guy, but he needs to boss his box better and stop the brainfart playing out the back... hoof it up the pitch. He didn't seem particularly impressed by our efforts

Play out when you can, if not hoof it, it's not hard.
Insane.Clearly he's under instruction, along with the rest of our defensive players, to not go long and to play around the opposition.
He played a couple of chip passes up to the centre circle in the second half ...and Solanke did very well with them.Clearly he's under instruction, along with the rest of our defensive players, to not go long and to play around the opposition.
Having had a couple of days to think about it, those comments are pretty worrying. Why have we now lost two games in close proximity because the players (in both their own and the manager’s words) weren’t willing to put in the effort required to match the opposition?I would prefer for the fortnightly apologies to stop and for the team to just at least turn up.

You could be right; but it could be argued that we have a PL winner in Maddison, a World Cup winner in Romero, and someone who knows the club inside out in Son. Hard to know why one of them can’t step up and fulfil that role.I don't think it's effort
I think we got knocked out of the game we like to play (lots of possession, lots of passes, pulling opposition out of place), a style that has worked against very good teams (we generally still have possession even against the best teams), and we didn't know how to respond/counter.
Our players should respond with "ok, they are breaking up our game, they are wasting time, they are squeezing us quite effectively", we are not going to accept that (this is the fight/mental part vs. "effort"), lets do "x" for the next 10 minutes and get back control, then take from there.
This is the leadership part, this is a gap with the youth and nature of some of our players (famous clams quote here), if you take the West Ham example where Ange made the Sarr/Maddison shift, argument could have been made that Maddison should have seen the pattern and dropped himself back and left to create the same effect.
This side could do with an old/experienced/successful head in the group

Ah - thanks!Maddison didn’t win the prem
He wasn’t there when they won it
Has won an FA cup
Well we won everything under Poch and were now just brickAh - thanks!
Blimey…I would have bet my mortgage on him being part of that Leicester team. Funny the tricks memory plays as you get older.
Thank GHod we won the title that year after Leicester did though.
