Giovani Lo Celso

I actually though Lo Celso was one of our better players in the final and isn’t someone I’d write off just yet. He’s not an Eriksen-sen-sen replacement imo and his injury seems to have been one serious one which is taking a while to get him fully fit. One of his attributes is his energy but he’s also decent enough technically to progress is from deep. He’s not going to score long range goals, take fks or score that many goals from what I’ve seen. The conundrum is how to fit him Ndombele and Hojbjerg into the same team but therein lies the rub with changing managers. We just don’t have a goalscoring long range shooting number 10 out of the 4 or 5 players who have been tried there this season. The best fit for the role is Kane, which I still think is a viable solution if we get rid off a couple of the options we have tried to fund a half decent striker to play with Kane.
Not gotten enough attention (imo) that we switched Hojbjerg and Lo Celso during the final and got more control down that side as a result.

Lo Celso is a very good player, if he can stay fit he'll be a huge asset next season. Showed again yesterday what he can do, though he still looks a bit short on form/match fitness.

We need to find a system and the right balance in the team, but Lo Celso is definitely one we should try to get into whatever system we'll play imo.

Fleck should have received a red card for stamping down the shoulder and head of Giovani.
It is completely deliberate, he knows exactly what he's doing, he's aiming, and he hits.

That should be a retrospective multi-game ban, no doubt the FA will protect themselves with some flimflam rule like "as VAR reviewed, we can't go back"

One of the worse decisions I've seen (and that fudging says something when supporting Spurs)

They've already got the example from last week where they over ruled Balbuena's VAR-and-ref-reviewed red for West Ham. Unless they can only reverse a decision in one direction?

Actually astounded at that one. Gio deserves some credit for keeping his head (excuse the pun considering), could have gone full on for some retribution but instead maintained calm..

As for VAR, just fudging ridiculous. I try to keep a neutral eye when it comes to those type of moments but I just cannot fathom how it wasn't upgraded to a red. As mentioned, there's probably a get out clause as it's been looked at or something dumb but 'kin hell it's reckless. Wasn't it a Sheffield United player with a joke of a late tackle on Moura last season too? Must not like being outclassed but there's better ways to deal with it.

I am really looking forward to see Lo Celso fit and playing next season. I am not sure he and Tanguy are a good fit to play together though.

I still believe there is a very good player in there, he has had a few bad injurys this season and i hope he can go away in the summer and recover and get fully fit. I still do not believe that he and Tanguy are a good partnership ( at this time) but IF we have to let one of them go i hope its not Lo Celso. I understand others may disagree.

I think both need a proper fitness regime. If Lo Celso is injured again next season then it's time to part ways. We've carried enough injury prone players over the years and should be learning when to let them go.

Yes, the last thing we need is another Lamela on our hands.

He didnt have a good game today (under-statement) but he's a talented player. Hindsight is a wonderful thing but today wasnt the right game for him today - it relied on us imposing ourselves on them, but no-one has been able to do that to them at Elland Road this season. Lets see what a new manager can make out of him and whether he fits into their system

I don’t see what attributes Lo Celso has that make him a good player. He looks like a squad player at best so far to me.
Neither do I. Does anyone on here rate him? If so, can you elaborate on what makes him rate-able? I just don't see it. Maybe, like many players, he's not settled/unsettled by his bout of Mourinhoitis/not fully fit, but if you like him, what is it that you like?

He's injured more often than Lamela, and when he dose play, he's yet to be anything other than bang average. He doesn't create much offensively and is very often easily beaten or just bypassed defensively.
I had high hopes for him, but I firmly believe that it would be easy to upgrade on him.

I like him too. I think that people underestimate how much of an impact a disrupted season can have. He's had injury problems and a club in turmoil during his two years. I'd like to see what he can do when fit and with a decent manager.

Ndombele is 10 times the player Lo Celso is! Lo Celso has NOTHING special to offer. Ndombele on the other hand, has abilities and attributes that are potentially world class. Ndombele has shown twice as much as Lo Celso, in half the time.

I think he's decent and he was good in Spain before. What I like about him:
- carries the ball well from deep positions and can beat his man
- uses the ball well
- works hard and is fiesty for his size
- he's not quick, but he does have acceleration over the first 5-10 yards which enables him to beat his man
I see him as a similar player to Modric, though we haven't seen it that much. I think you need to judge him once we have a manager in place who values creative players and he ha an injury free spell. If he doesnt perform then, then happy to admit I was wrong and we should sell him. But we haven't seen anything close to the best of him in a Spurs shirt yet

Ndombele sucks any intensity out of our midfield. He’s not for me he just over complicates and slows our attacking.
GLC at least moves the ball forward.
