NoI wonder if PENandes would’ve had this sort of impact with Spurs if we’d got that deal over the line instead of Lo Sicknote...
Because Kane is the penalty taker
He plays the son role for united in effect

The best Lo Celso we've seen was the latter end of last season when he played as a CM next to Winks. He more than held his own defensively and I see no reason he couldn't play such a role again.I'm not convinced of lo celso even when he's fit. Like lamela lots of juicy moments but very little game changing presence

Out on the right trying to play RWF doesn't suit his attributes, we need him playing centrally and as close to Ndombele and Kane as possible. Just because he has a left foot doesn't make him a RWF.
I still contend to get the very best from this squad we need to at a 433 of Hojberg, Ndombele and GLC. Between the three of them there is more than enough workrate and defensive nous to be secure and of course fantastic quality in possession and attack.

Passing up on Bruno Fernandes for this perpetual sicknote is looking more and more like the blunder of the decade.
Don't know what his issues are, but he's at risk of drifting into the same perpetually injured cul-de-sac as Lamela. I hope for his sake he turns it around.
Sharing too much hometime with Lamela can have that affect in youLo Celso already seems like a injury-prone player. Surely, it must be a Spurs curse, players getting injury-prone after joining us.
GLC played 3 more games in the Prem than Lamela the last two seasons, one goal and three assists for him vs 2 goals and one assist.GLC is a bit of an anomaly as players off the pitch get more and more hyped up the longer they're out for..Whereas I don't see many screaming out for his return, nor a big Gio shaped hole in the team at the minute either.
Am I under-rating him perhaps? I reckon our midfield would invariably look worse without one of him or Tanguy in there as we'd lose the creative aspect but the Frenchman is just about one of the only impactful influences in making it enjoyable to watch Spurs of late and I doubt Gio would have that same effect.
Hadn't watched an awful lot of GLC prior to his signing but to me he's like a left footed Eriksen replacement who isn't getting anywhere near the same numbers, hell I bet even Erik is way ahead on assists + goals per minute but maybe I'm judging him by the wrong stats. Hope my feelings prove to be wrong in the long run but it appears that half the time he'll be out and the other half he'll be working his way back to form before another injury pops up...

I think the concerns over his injury record are valid. He was a bright spot last year for his work rate, ability to carry the ball, resist the press and win the ball back. Mourinho must have signed off on his early loan conversion to a perm deal but I’m not sure he was ever supposed to be Eriksen’s replacement as even at Betis his assist tally was low.
When he returns I’d partner him with Hojbjerg and return Ndombele to the attacking role, hopefully Lo Celso will be able to get the ball to him quicker and also draw players towards him to give him more spade to operate. I do like ndombele operating deeper but Lo Celso would give us a lot more on the ball than messrs Winks or Sissoko operating there.
Maybe Poch thought GLC was an upgrade Winks and Ndombele on Sissoko, whilst replacing the almost irreplaceable Dembele? Its a nice thought to think we’ll have all three of Tanguy, GLC and PEH readily available at the same time, sadly with our injury record it’s pie in the sky style thinking. If it only takes one of our first choice midfielders to reduce it to how it performs currently I guess it’s a squad problem (not trying to lay blame solely on Gio for current woes)..
Maybe looking at players as a replacement for former players isn’t the best way of thinking on my part...I’m still sceptical at the reasoning behind signing Gio and Tanguy at the same time, but I guess we didn’t perceive how long it would take for them to settle and the injury problems to boot.
Lamela disease has caught himWhere the hell is this guy and what the hell is wrong with him?
