Giovani Lo Celso

Get rid! He's useless. He's been here 2 years, and hardly played, and the times he had played, he's been bang average, except for a few moments. Anyone with two working legs would be more useful.

I thought he was widely seen as one of our better players last season and to some extent he ran himself into the ground.

The injuries are a concern, the catch is we may need to reintegrate him to prove himself fit before anyone will stump up the cash to take him off our hands. For the same reason I am intrigued what club will take on Lamela post his time here (now there’s a player who’d shown he was injury prone for years and still got a new contract!)

If only Lo Celso could avoid getting inured for a few weeks then he’d surely have matched Lamela’s tally of 16 goals by now... annoying to see how much Fernandes has improved ManU this past year considering he could’ve been playing for us.

€55M up front, €25M in add ons, 10% sell on clause +whatever stupid agent/family fees they dreamt up of. He's a very good player but we were never going to touch him at €80M+. Any player United buys they get fleeced above and beyond market (Martial ended up being way more than originally reported). In this case since Maguire and Bruno cost about the same, it feels like a fudging bargin.

Back to thread, hopefully see some Gio next week-end.

He's training, Jose said close, maybe a week

He said he was a few weeks away?

I don't know. Not close," he said on Lo Celso. "I think Reguilon next week against Wolfsberger home match.

"Not Gio. No, no, no. Gio is still a few weeks away and of course we need him because he gives us lots of qualities and options and we've missed him for a long time."

He had something niggling him for ages and he kept missing the odd game here and there even going into back end of last season.

I think the hamstring is a cover story as no one misses this ridiculous length of time with a hammy unless they tore it bad and had surgery.

Whatever the real issue is I reckon they have tried and failed to manage it, hoping it’d go away and in the end they realised it wasnt working and he’s either having extended rest or had surgery to solve it.

Not sure why its been kept in house but so obvious now that this is what is going on.

Just saw today’s presser... Gio really has been hit hard by the Tottenham midfielder curse :(
