The Star had that Marca piece under the headline "Bale agrees 6 year deal with Real Madrid" as though it were fact. So far I've seen 6 or 7 comments (including my own) get taken down. They're getting *a lot* of stick from Spurs fans

As much as I love Bale and think he's world class if it means we get Di Maria, Coentrao and Soldado for Bale I'd be more than made up.

Di Maria and Coentrao are good players but that doesn't look a good deal at all to me.
That's fiction. It would mean we would value Bale at about £50-55mil or something like that.

Right lets get this in a little perspective, Bale has had one and a half great seasons, Hoddle did it over a decade in many a shocking side at times, Gazza took a beyond average side and almost single handedly won us the FA Cup (forget the final), Klinsmann as a striker is one of the greatest I have seen live and we are not even mentioning Jimmy Greaves who was one of the most ultra talented players ever and I say that with no exaggeration, he took people on Pele'esq
I will make a bold statement here, I love Bale, don't get me wrong, he is a phenomenal talent but how much of his game is built around pace which he will only lose eventually, does he have the natural talents apart from balls striking that the likes of Hoddle and Gazza had?? Not even near in my book, and that does not make him a bad player or is seen as a negative, just those two were supreme talents
