Gareth Bale

Re: Gareth Bale

François Gallardo (Fifa agent) "I have information and I assure you that Gareth Bale is already player of Real Madrid" #RMFC #THFC

Seems like it's BS

Re: Gareth Bale

most stupidest thing to do if we have sold bale for £90 million, we'll struggle to get anything of Bales class and levy would not reinvest, it'll also alert other clubs we have £90 million spare so prices go up for us

This Gallardo guy knows his stuff ;)
Here he is back in November saying guardiola has a deal to go to city - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...-and-pep-guardiola-have-a-preliminary-1464288
And in October John Terry was going to Valencia! - http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/chelsea-transfer-gossip-john-terry-1398191
He doesn't even get Terry's contract date right.

I think the rumours refer to Euro90m which is about £76m. Not sure if Real Madrid will bit more than the 80m they paid for Ronaldo especially if Ronaldo stays there. And there is no reason whatsosver why Levy should lower the price to enable Real Madrid to buy Bale. If we do sell Bale, we will find it almost impossible to buy quality players. Remember, even when we were in CL in 2010, we failed to sign any top quality players. Without CL and our only world class player Bale, no player in their right frame of mind will want to join us unless they are desperate to leave their clubs like VDV.

Exclusive – Les Ferdinand: Gareth Bale could leave Spurs for £80million
By Anton Stanley | Saturday, June 8, 2013

Les Ferdinand has admitted that a huge bid of around £80million could be enough to see Gareth Bale leave Tottenham Hotspur this summer.

The Welshman had a scintillating season last time out netting breathtaking goals and providing match-winning performances as Spurs just missed out on Champions League qualification.

But his form hasn’t gone unnoticed by Europe’s biggest clubs with Real Madrid extremely keen on signing the midfielder.

And Ferdinand, currently a coach at White Hart Lane, reckons that although they are desperate for the player to stay, a big bid would have to be accepted by chairman Daniel Levy.

He told talkSPORT: “I think the club will try everything they can to keep him [Gareth Bale] but, then again, if someone comes in and offers £80million I think everyone is sensible enough to know there is a price for every player.

“It sends out a good message if you’re able to keep your best players.

“Last year we saw Luka Modric leave and if Tottenham do the same this year it just sends out the wrong message.”

How can Ferdinand who is still a coach at Spurs comes out with a statement like that ? You know the media are going to twist his words for their liking. IMO, all those at Spurs should avoid commenting on Bale's future unless if they urge him to stay.

Re: Gareth Bale

Probably Levy who instructed him to mention 80 mill...

Thaaaaat's right, Daniel Levy obviously knows the only way to get a message to potential suitors is to to get Les Ferdinand to reprise his role as village idiot on Talkbrick...

Re: Gareth Bale

If someone comes in and offers £80 million, Levy will consider it. Foolish to think otherwise. What will that money buy us right now and will we get more or less next season?

Re: Gareth Bale

Even with the money, players still prefer to go to other clubs, we just become even less appealing without Bale. I imagine most of it would be reinvested and the rest put aside for the stadium/Joe's yacht. We'll probably stay competitive but highly doubt we'd improve, not in the first season anyway.

Where does this idea come from?

Not that I don't agree with the general point.. Although you'd like to think we have 2/3 players lined up to spend the Bale money on if/when it arrives (be it this summer or the next), i.e. players we would not otherwise look at due to the cost of their transfer fee/wages.
