Noticed that we seem to have survived on a conveyor belt of streaks this season: Defoe, then Bale, the Dempsey recently, then Bale again.
Here's hoping that Siggy and the Ade will have there's soon...it could happen and is getting closer to happening

Strikers score the majority of goals, when you play one up front, and he is at the moment.. completely inept, then the majority of goals will come from the player in the withdrawn role. Its been the same for a number of years. Only Bale in recent seasons from the midfield I believe has got past 5 goals.

Bale just strikes me as someone who just loves the club. We stuck with him even when he HAD the potential but never quite lived up to it, stuck with him through the whole "losing streak" thing. We gave him that platform to show his talents and look at what he is doing now. It's been 3 years since that historic night at the San Siro. Many thought he had peaked that moment, many thought it doesn't get better than this, he just needs to be more consistent but it's so much better than that. He's found all new ability with his new found confidence and consistency.
I honestly believe that he could quite easily stay at the club for the next 3 or 4 years.

Just to repeat a point from the moonshot thread:
Bale's performances of late have completely rehabilitated his image. While there was a perception that he was a softie, going down too easily, now people are seeing him riding tackles, making great runs, laying on great crosses and banging in beautiful goals. He's done his part, now watch the league respond.
He's going to get better protection and less scepticism from the refs going forward. When Cristiano Ronaldo was in his pomp at ManU, you could expect the mildest of contact to bring him down in an exasperated huff. But he got free kicks awarded and scored often. That threat forced defenders to play him just a little looser, giving him room to run and shoot.
By estabishing his credentials with free kicks, Bale's now served notice that fouling him can have the harshest consequences. His spectacular play and the desire of the Premier League to keep him - or any superstar - from leaving abroad will put added pressure on referees to call fouls on him. The added space he'll be afforded will open things up for our other attacking players.
Now Spurs fans can do their part to help. There has to be an almighty bellow from Spurs supporters anytime he is roughed up. You see it - hear it - at Old Trafford or the Bernabeu and it works. Just another part of the protection process.

Major concern, imv - we really need to be more clinical in front of goal. Holtby has to start in place of Demspey next week.

Yeah, AVB deserves full credit for rediscovering Bale's set-piece skills. Redknapp did nothing to improve our freekicks or penalties. Nice to know we have a freekick specialist now who we can call upon when needed. It has been a long long time since we had one. IIRC, Ziege was the last Spurs player to score from freekicks consistently.

Yeah, AVB deserves full credit for rediscovering Bale's set-piece skills. Redknapp did nothing to improve our freekicks or penalties. Maybe Bale can watch some more videos of Ronaldo at corners!?
Bale seems to love going to the near post to try and score from weird flicks etc, when it doesn't work or the the corner just doesnt reach it just makes everyone look bad (especially Walker). Would be nice if he could try and run into a prime position more bang in the middle of the box, although maybe the reason he doesn't is because the centre backs have already claimed this area by default. Either way, they need to mix it up a bit.

True - Bale appears to model himself on the Portuguese in so many aspects lately (at least it's not the EA Sports pin-up boy) - Ronaldo hovers quite a bit in the box during set-pieces and can pretty much outjump (levitate for a few seconds!) any opponent.

Bale has clearly moved into the World Class category now and you would have to say he is up there in the top ten players in the world. it seems he keeps on doing things which are better than what he has done before. I think he does love the club and you get the feeling he likes being close to his family etc. however, it is only a matter of time before he moves on and i think the following clubs are likely destinations
1. Madrid - seems the obvious one. They can afford him and he can team up with Ronaldo and probably replace him.
2. Barcelona - Not sure if they can afford him and they have messi but possible
3. Emirates Marketing Project - think they will bid in the summer (mancini was at the lane last night), they can clearly afford him and his head may be turned by the promise of trophies
4. chelsea - see Emirates Marketing Project
5. Man utd - probably cant afford him but seems like the perfect replacement for giggs
6. PSG - would he want to play in france?
