Fraser Forster

can't believe he is still our #2
can't we afford a better keeper who is willing to sit on the bench?
or if the other two younger aren't good enough - we didn't we get rid of all 3 so we can afford a proper #2.

good guy, nice character, fun personality are secondary - competence first please.

Made a couple of important saves plus a bit of sweeping to keep that all important clean sheet.

Yeah, was good. He's never going to be great, but perhaps showed why he's still second choice.

Wouldn't be confident if we had to trust him for an extended period of time in the PL. But that's been the case with most of our backup goalkeepers over the years.

I must admit, I was scared when i saw his name on the team sheet.

But what a great performance he put in. Saved us on a least two occasions with saves that really should have been goals and a great save from a corner in the first half which i was sure was in.

We might have some competition again for Vicario :)

Agree, its the one thing that i fail to understand is that when over the years our first choice keepers have had to miss games there is a outcry from a lot of fans that they are not good enough. Well what do fans want they are obviously not as good as the first choice keeper because IF they were they would be first choice. They are what they are 2nd choice keepers and should not imo be compered to the man they are filling in for.

Hopefully he will be fine... For sure he'll "cost" us goals Vicario would have stopped. Question is how many...

We've seen enough of him to know that he's not the keeper he once was, but we haven't seen enough of him to know how good/bad he is over a bit of time. Hopefully Ange and the coaches made a decent decision sticking with him this summer, time will tell now.

The risk of this situation is why Spence wasn't registered in the EL squad. Time for Forster to prove he was worth that decision, or not.

And now we may have to use him for quite some time. So can we have an emergency recruit or not?

I know he kept the goal score down at Gala and while not massive fan. Hope his body can take the games coming, cos if he hurts himself......

He will no doubt improve with game time, just like Davies did at LCB.
