If we accept that, we accept that the Champions League is the only European competition worth winning. That’s ridiculous to me.

Jose Mourinho has won everything in the game. He talked up winning the Conference League with Roma. West Ham celebrated it massively. It’s a level or two below the Europa League.

To win any European competition is a magnificent achievement and you’ll rarely hear pros or people in the game talking it down. Yet, for some reason, some of our fans seem to want to.

It’s bizarre mate. I genuinely don’t get it.

It’s simple.
You either believe Thomas Frank will introduce a different type of football to the club when he gets the services of Deki and Maddison back, or you don’t.
That in turn is based on how you view his time at Brentford matched with what we’ve seen so far this season.
Perhaps the only other factor is how much stock you put into the turbulence around him, and how much that has disrupted his plans.

Not for me. There's eleven players on that pitch and it won't be down to just a couple of positions that changes it tactically. I think there are many different gears we can find based on available personnel.

The first obvious different ones that come to mind are having a leftie at left back and having a proper number 9 in Solanke. So something like this team

Vic
Porro, Romero, VDV, Udogie
Palhinha, Gallagher
Bergval, Xavi, Tel
Solanke

We have to hope Kulu does start being re-introduced and that Xavi keeps making progress. Then Frank is more than likely going to have more weekdays to work with these players and implement change. Then there is always that potential that we do sign another attacker this window.

I'm not expecting to see possession based, pressing football this season. I do think we'll see something way more fluid and consistent though.
