Formula One on Sky

So Lewis came 8th in the end :D Why should he retire, as long as he is still enjoying it (obviously not as much when he's had a poor season) and getting paid handsomely for something he loves good for him.

Don't see people crying about Alonso still going....

Still 2 of the best drivers there is.

I can see Hamilton going either way to be honest, never easy to change platform like that, even more so after such a long stint in the same underlying package.

I think him retiring at the end of the year, is just as likely as Ferrari sorting the car out and getting him back in the title fight next season.

Personally I reckon he will see out his second year, I don't think he will want to go out with a season like this and hopefully would feel more acclimatised in the car for next season....

They need to do more than sort the car out. Hamilton had what, 8? laps in Q1. They couldn't find him space for a clear lap once. They only found Leclerc 1 clear lap.

How many times have they screwed their own drivers over with poor decisions in the last few years? I thought Vasseur might solve it but it clearly runs deeper than personnel. I don't know if it's their data modelling or what but it's a problem.

Anything can happen and did with both Lando & Piastri disqualified
Max only 24 points behind now, I bet he wins it again !!

Would be remarkable!

Noris still in the driving seat. 24 points ahead and two races. Is there a sprint race too? Anything is possible!

Been impressed by Noris’ mentality. He looked meek early in the season but now he’s in a good place. Unlike Oscar. 2 races to go and 3 drivers can still win it…

New rules next season, so the car will be as different as it gets! New engines, 30-40% less downforce, no DRS etc.

Will all be about harvesting electricity?

I’ve had a hybrid car for 5 years or so. And will probably get another. The tech they developed in F1 ends up in road cars often.

But of course, as we've seen before, the FIA are happy to cheat someone out of it and change the rules on the fly to gift Verstappen a title.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if it happens again.

I'm going to be sick if McLaren fudge this up and let that horrible little scrote win another one.
I sat through the interminable 58 laps to make sure fish lips Verstappen didn't win.
It was very dull.
I've not watched a grand prix since they stole the title from Hamilton about 4 years ago, bunch of w*nkers.

They were saying that next year EVVVVERYTHING is changing, so I guess that might be interesting, but without DRS I suppose nobody will ever overtake and it will be even more boring than usual. Unless they introduce figure of 8 tracks.

A dull race is exactly what I wanted today.

I'm still angry about 21 too. Like properly tinkled off on a daily basis, one of pro sports biggest ever injustices.

I've never liked DRS, overtaking should be hard, thats where the skill is. They are killing the implementation, but we'll see what teams can do with active aero.

They've got it the wrong way around. DRS should get you close to the car, not enable when you're already close to it.

The most difficult part of closing on another car is the 3-1 second space where you're too far back for a proper tow bit close enough to lose down force in the corners.

They should just measure and limit the turbulence behind each car. Would be the simplest and best way to solve overtaking. And narrower cars. And wider tracks. And no more bricky street tracks.
