Oh, and ditch qualifying and just start the race in reverse championship order.

Don't agree with that. Many of the street circuits are actually better for overtaking and generally more entertaining than a hell of a lot of the designed race tracks.And no more bricky street tracks.
Because formula 1 is different to Moto Gp? My guess is money. It's always money. More TV, more spectators etc.Why do they have to have 2 sets of qualifying when there is a sprint race? MotoGP has a sprint every race and where you qualify for the sprint is your grid position for the race as well
