Gotta love how UEFA are desperately trying to maintain the old status quo

@SwissRamble
#MUFC revenue has been boosted by the UEFA coefficient, a new distribution method for 2018/19, based on performances in UEFA tournaments over the past 10 years.
On this basis, English clubs received following payments: #MUFC €31m, #MCFC €24m, #LFC €23m and #THFC €16m.

Can't condemn this payment scheme too harshly.

As long as we continue to qualify and perform decently well in CL, we'll grow our long-term co-efficient and the revenue this formula provides.

Notice who wasn't on that list? Historically entitled whiners, the Jar-Jar Binks of European clubs, Acey Meelan.

Never been the same since Joe Jordan emasculated Rino Gattuso.

AC Milan are 16th in the rankings, just behind Liverpool. Others not in the CL this season include Chelsea (6th), Arsenal (9th), Sevilla (13th), Zenit (19th) and Basel (23rd). We are 25th.

also, I wonder if Dinamo Tblisi fans moaned in 81 about the 5000km trip to Dusseldorf for a European final

would anyone be moaning if Astana and Qarabag were contesting the final in Portugal?

Shock !!

A French judge has charged the president of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) football club, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, with corruption over Qatari bids to host the world athletics championships.

Judicial sources quoted by AFP news agency said the case focused on the championships held in 2017 and 2019.

Mr Khelaifi, who is also the boss of Qatari TV channel BeIn Sports, has been under investigation since March.

Two payments totalling $3.5m (£2.8m), made in 2011, are under scrutiny.

London won the bidding to host the championships in 2017, but Qatar is hosting this year's championships in September-October.

It is alleged that the payments were made by Oryx Qatar Sports Investment - a firm jointly owned by Nasser Al-Khelaifi and his brother Khalid - to a firm run by the son of Lamine Diack, ex-president of the IAAF, the world athletics governing body.

Lamine Diack, 85, was charged with corruption in March in relation to the case, while an arrest warrant has been issued for his Senegal-based son, Papa Massata Diack. Lamine Diack was IAAF chief in 1999-2015.

the way i see it, footy is a reflection of life-are you only happy with money and winning things, or just participating ? what's important, which philosophy/outlook on footy do you hold dear ? glory with or without doped up spending ? seems to be a lot of contradictions, and it's all relative

elitism or open to all ?

Not football related but Sky have lost something else to BT now, all of their WWE content is moving in 2020

I have seen “With on-pitch team possession statistics from some of the Big 6 clubs increasingly reaching 70% and more, is this the game that fans really want?” quoted a lot recently as an indicator of the growing disparity between to side. I think a large part of this is a change in tactics to a possession game from a counter punching game, it may be an indicator but it is over simple to us it in isolation.
