Fabrice Muamba

Truly terrible scenes last night. So pleased to hear the lad's holding on to life and fighting all the way. It makes you question your own mortality when a fit young athlete can suddenly collapse with heart problems.

Keep fighting Fabrice.

Its not been a great week has it? What with Modeste and now Muamba :( hope both are ok and make a recovery.

africanspurs

read the first post here and be angry.... http://www.glory-glory.co.uk/showthread.php?916-Big-Issue

then read steff's post

then read what roy said and did a day later

i've read the first post and dont think i can handle reading anything else with some kind of snow white was not molested type spectacles. its pretty clear what his views are and i dont believe an internet discussion is going to change them. i'd rather live in hope that he doesnt take it out on some poor scrawny benefit claimer and i would much like to erase the post from memory and just keep the image of the poster in question as i see him in my mind, which is a decent top internet bloke

Just got in from the game.

It happened right in front of us, i felt so sad and sick i really feel for the lad. I had a tear in my eye watching that and felt so sick i turned my back on it, to see that cpr given so aggresively you just knew something was wrong. GHod what a thing to happen at the football. The drive back was so quiet the stadium and people outside so quiet such a shocking thing to see, did not expect that at all.

You know driving home i had worries for him and hoped he was alright for his family but all i could think was, i dont care about the f.a. cup or the top4. I like to be entertained when watching football. But i feel i have been a bit of a dingdong for gettting so worked up about the football and league position, when you see a guy fighting for his life like that, damn football is so stupid it really does not matter.

Think it was a wake up call to stop taking things so seriously.

Good luck to Muamba i hope you get better soon because that is all that counts football means fudge all in the grand scheme of things.

You know Chich. I could have written that exact post myself, you have totally took the words out of my mouth.

We got back from the game around 11pm last night, no real state to post anything until now. Actually found it hard to sleep last night and still feel rather sick.

Lots of you were giving me advice after the Arsenal game on how I need to re-evaluate how I treat football and my feelings after defeats,etc;
Exactly like you said that is a wake-up call and right now I feel like calling it a day for the season, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Semis, just doesnt matter know

Thoughts are with Fabrice.

Been reading the Bolton forum and am getting abit choked up reading posts from fans from all over the country. Everybody has come together as 1 its a shame its under these circumstances.

I'll save you a bit of time - the next 5 pages are full of the predictable debate about immigration and welfare etc along with the equally predictable slating of Roy for such a shameful post.

But skip on to page 6 and as someone said earlier, it's quite a transformation!

Well worth reading mate :)

no thanks, but as Mulletperm pointed out in the bolton thread, not really the time and its not important

Fair enough. But I disagree about it being not the time, you get to see a compassionate side of people including Roy1983. His later post is the most amazing thing I've read on here. Genuinely made me shed a tear!

Goes from being a trivial Internet spat to truly doing some good for the world, credit to Roy1983, thfcSTeff and Gordinho.

Very uplifting all in all, something we could all do with.

I'll be thinking of Muamba and his family and friends today.

His health might well come above all, nonetheless it has been heartwarming to see collective dignity and compassion at the fore. It's a wonderful world, and Muamba deserves his place in it.

Horrific scenes yesterday, but at least they were able to get top quality medicsal attention to him quickly, it could have made all the differences. Hopefully he will make a full recovery.

Really hope he pulls through, as i said, its fudging terrifying to think at any given moment, your heart could just stop.

I also hope it galvenises the tottenham and bolton players, and makes them realise that you really can go home feeling alot bricker than just because you lost. Hopefully we can push on and get 3rd and the FA Cup, and bolton can avoid relegation!

am a season ticket holder, go to every home game without fail...but I am not sure I want to go on Wednesday night...is that wrong?

We all react to situations in a different manner mate, it's perfectly acceptable if you don't feel like doing so. I assume you were there yesterday? I've got a ticket for wednesday's game and, personally, I can't wait. I was watching the game on television yesterday and was quite sickened about what has happened - but life has to move on for myself. I spent a lot of time on the sofa yesterday evening getting updates about Muamba when i should really have been doing some work, but I couldn't really let go of it.

There's no shame in having second thoughts after what happened yesterday, no-one likes to be reminded of their own mortality. Stay strong.

Thoughts are still with Fabrice

Anybody have any idea how the club will handle the replay?

Should be a very emotional night for both clubs.

Do you think they'll invite all the ticket holders from last night?

Any ideas on dates?

Not at all. Very understandable. Definitely wont be going myself, struggling with whether we will go to the rearranged game. Right now it just doesnt feel right if we are in a position to celebrate a victory

I would a lot will depend on what happens in the next 24-48 hours. I certainly cant see Bolton playing at Villa on Tuesday for starters, then we have the weekend game.
Your expected date for the rearrangement I expect would be the night which wasscheduled for a potential replay at Reebok, Weds 28th March, but its whether Bolton are in a position to play a match at that time

Would absolutely love it if all teams fans from all grounds midweek started chanting his name.
