Think this thread needs a bump, before the rumour mill and plans for summer get kicked in to overdrive.

The guy deserves some acknowledgement, particularly for his decisive work in January managing to trim the fat (easy Tanguy joke but I won't make it) and add two gems to give Conte a squad he could work with.

I'd said back in Jan I wasn't going to be tinkled at Kulu / Bencantur if the CL finish didn't happen as they hadn't seemed to be playing a lot recently and had joined a tough new league etc etc - Turned out they were ready to play a huge part in us achieving it. This can only have strengthened the bond between manager and dof as the relationship has been proven to work wonders, and hopefully it's just the start!

Totally. A DoF only looks good when a manager can get players playing well. They must be feeling the love now! Paratici re-balanced Conte's side - just! We still missed a RWB. And there were a couple of games where we were shut out, lacking some width. Conte's genius is quite simple: give players instructions and a clear structure. Having clarity and a strong structure really helps pros shine. Kulu and Bentancur have the technical attributes to excell. But it is not easy slotting into a team usually, especially in another country. But with Conte some of the insecurity is taken away as he tells you exactly what he wants you to do. If you can do it - technically - then you'll do well. Less thinking, less insecurity.

No doubt: without Paratici signing these two we wouldn't have got CL.

Agreed. Dybala is a wonderful player, but she, injury record and not proven in the PL leaves me less convinced. If we do go for him I assume it will be because Conte thinks he's a good fit, if so I have no problems with it and will be excited. Too many question marks.

Bastoni go go go.

Perisic is 33 now, but he's a tough bastard and could potentially do well both in attacking roles or as a full back some games. Would instantly give us a lot of options, experience and Conte knows what he would get. If Conte wants him all for it.
