FA Cup SF Ticket Details

Dunno if this has already been posted, but just read an absolute peach of a reason from Chelsea in The Guardian... Under the overall theme of 6pm allowing extra drinking time, they close off by saying:

"...Chelsea are also worried that their younger
fans
might not be able to attend because of
what would be a late return home..."

Please.

...what, like THIS younger fan?

fudge 'em... I doubt a late night is gonna bother them, it's not like they'd be going to school in the morning anyway!!

I'd be horrified if my daughter did that. Is it a girl, by the way? I can't tell! Mind, you looking at the father, is it any wonder?

Funnily enough at the recent game at the Bridge, there was some bald headed tosser giving it large to us after we hit the bar, and he got a lot of stick back, then he turned next to him to what i assume was his son, who must have been about 6 years old, and got him standing up shouting abuse with him. Couldn't believe my eyes!

We'd get far less tickets for the final. It will probably come down to LPs for ST holders and that would mean applications.

how many ST holders do we have ? i seem to believe its 1round 25k ? surely the allocation for the final isn't lower than that ?

IIRC the allocation for an FA Cup final is ?ú25k/?ú26k. Cant see Members getting a look in if we do get past Chelsea

Chelsea have no chance of persuading the Football Association to bring forward the 6pm kick-off time for Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley. The governing body is adamant that the match will go ahead as planned, irrespective of whether Roberto Di Matteo's side defeat Benfica in their Champions League quarter-final, the second leg of which is on Wednesday night.

Should Chelsea go through in that match at Stamford Bridge – they lead 1-0 from the first leg – they will face Barcelona in a Champions League semi-final three days after the Tottenham tie, giving them little time to recover before what would be their most important game of the season.

The scheduling of the semi-finals has proved more difficult this year. Chelsea are unable to meet Spurs on Saturday because Liverpool have been granted dispensation not to play on 15 April, which marks the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, and will play Everton on 14 April.

Di Matteo suggested that one solution would be to play their semi-final against Spurs on Friday night while Chelsea have lobbied for an earlier kick-off on Sunday, which they believe would also reduce the risk of any trouble between rival supporters because there would be less drinking time available before the match.

The FA, however, maintains that a "collective decision" has been made and that there is no possibility of the plans that are in place changing. Although that remains the FA's stance, the suspicion is that ITV, who will broadcast Sunday's semi-final live and were determined to secure a primetime slot and avoid clashing with Sky Sports' 4pm Premier League match between Manchester United and Aston Villa at Old Trafford, have managed to convince the FA to bow to their demands.

Ricardo Carvalho decided Chelsea's controversial home fixture against Tottenham with a superb second-half goal. The Portuguese defender unleashed the match-winning shot that produced the only goal of the game in the 52nd minute to put pressure on leaders Manchester United before their late kick-off at Portsmouth.

Tottenham, forced to play the game just 39 hours after losing the first leg of their UEFA Cup quarter-final in Seville, displayed admirable determination but never looked like beating Chelsea at Stamford Bridge for the first time in 17 years.

Chelsea had rejected Tottenham's request to move the game until Sunday because of their own travel plans ahead of their Champions League return leg against Valencia on Tuesday night.

No sympathy whatsoever.

Not sure I like the sound of that though. Could through a lot of peoples plans up the wall

Match kick off times are determined by firstly TV, then the police, then the FA/Premier League. The clubs will not be consulted and the fans even less so.

The semi final being at 6pm is strange and can only be down to TV imo. The strange thing is that the Utd vs Villa game is the only Premier/sky game on that day, so why couldn't the game have been an early kick off like the Liverpool vs Everton game the day before?
