Players from Germany seem to hit the ground much better here than those from France, which might stand him in better stance re the N'Curse
Really? Who are they? I can only think of three players coming over from Germany lately; Werner, Sancho and Havertz. All 3 were star players in Germany, and they hardly hit the ground running! Only Havertz has been able to slowly make his mark.

Keita too

There is a difference between not a success and a flop. As i said he wasn't great but he wasn't awful.
He was a flop. He didn’t get starts and actually at the time was our 2nd most expensive signing I think…
He then changed and became world class over the next seasons
For context Lukaku is deemed a flop for his return to Chelsea.. he has been (in this season) more successful than Son was in his first

Son was not a flop in his first season ffs

Son certainly wasn't the player he is now. Many many on here didn't rate him and he wasn't always first choice starting games. Even when he started to show world-class ability, there were still a fair number of supporters who were yet to be convinced.

Calling him a flop is crazy talk. Slow start yes, disappointing even yes (although not for me as I felt he was playing well anyway at the time).

Lukaku is a flop because he was bought for 100m and is a high profile player. Son was an under the radar signing, no one but those that had paid attention to him expected much.
