Etienne Capoue

*******s.

We were closer to fourth without him than where we ended with him.

I dont want to keep taking the thread o/t but if you think we would hace finished closer to 4th without his contribution of 14 goals in 24 then then there really is nothing left to say.

To be fair you have to take into account what would have happened if another player had been playing instead aswell. Its not like if Ade wasnt there we would have had ten men every game, what if Sherwood had played Kane for a period and he'd scored a few and provided some assists....

@HotspurRelated: Capoue has attempted (440) and completed (392) more passes than any other top-flight player this season. #THFC

@mixedknuts: Etienne Capoue, Toulouse 12-13. He's a better all-around mid than he gets credit for. HUGE physical presence.

He was very good today and the one who caught my eye. Very good.

growing with confidence within a confined system week after week. just needs to improve his passing, read movement of his team mates but thatll come.

capoue has been playing consistently like this before he got here and throughout his playing time here - just look at the stats throughout his playing career.

Glad he's proving his worth now. Was very strange how many people had written him off based on a few appearances out of position and clearly unfit. He was one of our best players before his injury last season.

Anyone got a gif of the tekkers down the left hand side in yesterdays game?

Off topic but I'd love to see a GIF of Stambouli against Besiktas. He had some really bright moments where his quick feet got us out of some tight spots

we did indeed. Capoue looked better.

From what I could tell.... Capoue was playing same role for us that Wanyama was playing for Southampton. Schneiderlin was playing in the Mason role... I didn't really notice either Schneiderlin or Mason on Sunday but noticed both Capoue and Wanyama.

Also just to state in this thread (as I already have in another) I thought Capoue's performance was much better yesterday than it has been in our previous home games against WBA and Liverpool. He seemed to take up better positions defensively and also seemed more progressive on the ball. I hope he continues to prove me wrong.
