It's not about the players delivering, it's that the squad/team needs to have improved a great deal if we are to say it was a great window. Eg if we signed no one but the players delivered a better season does that make it a good window? Of course not.

I'm not as impressed with the team/squad on paper as others seem to be - so this is guiding my point. i think we have clearly improved central midfield from last season but otherwise the defensive and attacking units haven't really improved (on paper) we lack goals across the attack and our current best back four contains 3/4s of the defence from the last 2-3 seasons.

So with that in mind i think that the club have done their part in buying the primary targets of the manager but I'm doubtful the end result of that improves our position all that much.

Totally reasonable opinion. I personally think we have improved, and that a manager with such a defined way of playing getting his very specific targets is likely to improve us overall. But I respect the other side of that debate.

I think when I read the idea that people have ‘gone early’ with their judgement, it reads like a critique of being happy that the club has done what they have done. As if we as fans shouldn’t be happy that the club has backed a manager in a way they haven’t before. Personally, I think it’s a pre-requisite for success. And while it doesn’t guarantee we’re going to be trophy laden; it’s a heck of a lot more likely when the club operates in this mode than the one that came before it.

Their total investment since 2001 is about £480m I think in the first 20 years they only put in £25m of their own money. According to Cyberdyne Systems their investments were as follows:

I’m more or less in agreement with you on everything being shìt, but I don’t think it’s the same owners. Joe Lewis was in charge, however across everything Levy was, but now control has genuinely been handed over to the art-flogging failsprogs, and their arse-covering yes-men.

It’s not the same outcomes either. Choosing an eccentric manager is one thing, spending a fortune on indulging his whims is quite another. Completely new to us.

So altogether this feels like an entirely new world of horrors. One that feels fairly likely to end in a couple of relegations.

totally, somehow none of them we here or involved during the same period they blame everything on.

they are going to be tested now, either RDZ will get some thing to turn or they will have the Frank scenario right back again, and do they have the courage this time to do right thing before we truly spiral?

And either way, they are going to have to dip their hands in their pockets come January, squad still has serious gaps
