ENIC

Those 'top end finishes'; i have to wonder if only the top 2 got Europe, whether we'd have 'elevated' ourselves that way. I also wonder if only the champions and the cup winners got to play in Europe whether we'd have more cups to our name now (or even whether ENIC would even still be here).

The 'ambition' at the club is set from the top, see our wage and bonus structures. However we want to look at the 'oil club's' their ambitions are to do whatever they do to get trophies and all the finances, dodgy 'sponsorship' that stems from actually winning.

I'm interested to hear from anyone who can show a counter situation under ENIC to the 'sacked Jose just before the cup final' one. And no, having Ange continue in the job for me doesn't count

Maybe but finishing as high as you can in the league and doing so consistently is far better than not

We had the opportunity under Harry but instead we brought in Nelson and flipping OAP Saha on short term loans. We had the opportunity under Poch but instead we didn't bring in a single face for 18 months and before you talk about the stadium build there was absolutely nothing stopping us from selling Dele/Eriksen etc and reinvesting the money into strengthening the squad apart from the lack of football nous and the innate caution that is ENIC's model.

Nobody wanted Eriksen, and certainly not for what we wanted.
Even in the last year of his contract at a much reduced price there wasn't a long line of suitors.

We spent our transfer budget in the summer under harry. Which got us in a good position.
Levy doesn't have money to invest and lewis doesn't give a fudge. We were pretty maxed with the banks as we were buying land and building a stadium.

I want a sugar daddy owner. Don't care if it's a muslim. This country will be run by muslims in the next 10 years so what's the difference? At least i might see us winning trophies.

Honestly, we were building a fudging stadium during the Poch years and moving towards it during Redknapps time, it is what it is, we are not bankrolled - if Poch or Redknapp era was happening right now and we failed to back them at the right time i would get it, I would be right here complaining about it myself it would be unjustifiable. Let's get to that point post stadium revenue before we say we won't is all I'm saying

The bolded bit is unnecessary nonsense but also for another thread..

Did you not read what I said, we could and should have sold some players at the peak of their appeal and reinvested the money, it's what everyone else does why could we? We know the reason, we don't have that kind of football smarts in the leadership positions. Poch even told us what was needed but was ignored.

Im 2016 Eriksen could have gotten £60m maybe even potentially more, but we wanted £120m, of course no one wanted him especially a year and half later when all his form had evaporated.

Do you think Poch wanted to sell Eriksen or any other furst team player in 2016 the summer going in to our final year at WHL?

Possibly, I think he was realist and would have lost a player to gain in the long run. His later comments and willingness to sell Eriksen and Toby whilst both were still in their physical prime support my view.

I actually meant to write 2017, fat fingers made it 2016 😅

I don't think he would have, it was a year or two later that it looked like he wanted to do that. That's when he spoke of the rebuild. Lets be real though our transfer department at that time would not have come up with the goods to improve the team anyway.

Pretty sure he is a muslim.
You know Christianity also disallows homosexuality right? Do you think all Christians follow that viewpoint?

Maybe you should investigate the views of the individual first before you make assumptions. For your information Khan is pro gay rights, voted for gay marriage, supports LGBTQ movements etc.

I say all of that and I'm not even a Khan supporter.

I agree they probably wouldn't have but that all ties into my narrative. The football side of things has been not been run well for over a decade (I do agree that it seems to be changing but I'll wait for the results first before I laud them for it), and the responsibility for that poor state again comes down to the leadership.

There's no way around it for me, it's a trickle down effect. The infrastructure and culture is set from above, if something doesn't work it reflects upon the polices that the leadership has implemented. Just like if they were indeed successful they would get the credit. Just like I rate FSG highly for the work they've done since taking over Liverpool.

The rumour was he wanted to move to one or two very specific clubs, neither ever showed any interest in him. Possibly because they knew what our valuation of him was.
In the Amazon documentary levy tried to get him extend his contract but you could see Eriksen was already mentally away.
We missed the boat with Eriksen, whether it was because levy was too greedy or he didn't want to sell a fan favourite I'm not sure.

Christianity doesn't believe that the bible is the word of GHod as islam believes the qaran is.
The pope is gods representative. Think saint augustine said something along the lines that the bible is just a guide and as new evidence comes to light we adapt. The church has been for centuries.
The qaran is by muslims to be the unaltered word of GHod. Supercedes any man made laws.

I wouldn't vote for either. Focus on this reality.
