ENIC

Hey, that's one of @SpiderSpurs idols you're talking about there.
We all have idols who have done bad things I guess
I used to want to on Jim l fix it…
But this guy likes to us social media to abuse people.. I’m sure his favourite was women and people with disabilities but I’m happy to be corrected
He does do videos from his mums bedroom
And also talk about fake players
Cream of the crop some would say

Finally some actual proven talent joins the board.

You say that but what coaching experience does he have
Does he want us to every back to playing counter attack football
I don’t care that he may have a business role
If he doesn’t know anything about football and may have no involvement in it… it’s not acceptable … to the some of the nut jobs we have as fans

Yup, lets bring a football person into a business role, makes sense.

Genuinely mental, like I get the frustrations from the footballing side, I genuinely do but the reality is we are a one of the biggest operations commercially, staff, departments, offerings to all different levels in the game, there is a need also to have these people come in. That Brian fella made his young kind stand out with him in the freezing cold all day outside the training ground to hold up an Enic Out sign years back, I mean I get passion but stone me take him to the cinema or something............creating memories

F**k me, what a macaron.

Generally, this characterisation of people as "football people" and "non football people" does my head in a bit. I see fans always characterised as "football people" and people like Levy as not a "football person". He's spent 25 years attending most of the games, running the club at every level and being very close to some of the most talented players and coaches in the world. He's also a very intelligent man. I'm sure he knows a thing or two about the game - more than most of us I'd bet.

We're also a massive commercial organisation as someone else said. We need a lot of different skills to be successful.

If the running of the club were left to "football people", we'd spend everything on players and wages, not worry about additional revenue streams and end up like Man Utd or worse.

The funny thing is that if Levy was to join another football club at board level he'd be doing so with 25 years football experience behind him so would be viewed by them as a football man 😂

- I'd pay good money to be able to stream all Spurs games directly from club, especially with club commentators, bonus if it's location independent (i.e. when I travel I can still use it)

I think this is one of the most interesting topics in football today. We have a model where FAPL Ltd (i.e. the PL) negotiate centrally and issue prize money across different categories. Consumers mostly subscribe centrally to packages like Sky, Amazon and TNT so they could watch a breadth of football. Some pay on top to have channels like MUTV. We of course have it all loaded through SpursPlay which is peanuts money.

Last season's final numbers are in this article - https://www.football365.com/news/premier-league-prize-money-table-tv

The difference between City/Arsenal vs Sheff Utd/Burnley was £65m.

Now the moment you do what you say above and allow the clubs to own the infrastructure, the programmes and TV subscriptions then it gets really interesting. Spurs actually did this in pre-season where you could buy your ticket for the game or a package of 3 for one of the tournaments. I paid to watch them.

I have a feeling all hell would break loose if we opened up the market so every football club was in charge of their own destiny.

Also, this is the genesis of why the Superleague was ideated. All the clubs know that UEFA keep about 45% of the revenues from their competitions and it doesn't come back to them. That tariff is unacceptable, especially when UEFA are negotiating centrally and ensuring that they have the money in their pockets first.

For me there is a different model to be found that creates better choices. We're gonna have to go through that pain barrier first though as every stakeholder in the supply chain has selfish interests.

Its such a ridiculous notion TBH and its also done without the realism that Levy was never the money man and had to stick between what Spurs needed on the pitch and what Lewis was willing to spend. We can lie to ourselves about the revenue allowances at old WHL and that we had sums to spend that we didn't, we have increased the revenue and the spends increased, thats the line that Levy has had to walk. YES he has sacked too many managers, yes he had made too many business decisions over the football at times (see above reasoning)

But to act like he is not a football man because he is a business man first after 25 years is mental. And also there are clearly plenty of "football men" who know jack all about how to run things (look at countless poor managers and failed owners lower down the levels to see that).

Just look at Shewoods time at Swindon as DOF

I honestly find this account a tough read at times...........he wants to say the club are flogging tickets to Tourists for League games and spin that line (he goes on to say thats what he thinks in other replies) when in reality he just does not understand how cup tickets work and the fact they are easier to obtain and cheaper.

Where I was there was a huge group of younger lads and some ladies too
Average age was about 17
Really nice to see
Was also a decent group of tourists who seemed to be enjoying themselves too
