Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

I thought Ade was summed up by when he ran into the corner and tried to hit the player 2ft in front of him and missed both times he tried.

It did. The fact that he was still putting in the effort and running around during extra time tells you a lot.

No, because he had an good game other than that, therefore wouldn't sum up his performance. Last I saw he scored twice.

Something Adebayor never ever looked like doing, even when he had a penalty.

Join Dempsey and Ade and you'll get a player who worked hard and scored goals. Tonight both of them did a job for the team. Dempsey, as has been said, apart from scoring did sod all, so that's how football goes:-"

I've just said over the season he is the worst striker who continually gets selected I have seen in the past 25 years of having a season ticket, and cannot wait till he is gone.

No wonder AVB compares Defoe to Falcao! :)

Wow. Remember Pav? Bent? Iversen? Durie?

All played better than Adebayor this year.

Durie I thought was fantastic, one of the first players I can remember that had electric pace. Liked Nico Claasen too

speaking of the difference between ade this yr and last, got the chance to watch some replays of last season and their is one major difference and it pains me to say it, Modric. His speed of release put ade through a lot, and a lot of his goals were stared through him and opening up the defence. We have no player like that now, so he is playing a lot more with his back to the goal or out wide to receive the ball.

Guess it shows the impact one player can have on a whole team dynamic, and even with Bale being super powered this season, we have never replaced it.

I know I shouldn't get mad. But it was his grin that made me turn off. I know people respond differently, but that was one smile too many. Reminds me of Crouch and his bloody goofy grins miss, after miss after miss. Why he didn't put Sig through in extra time...only he knows. We did wing our way through this competition, but so did Chelsea, and I thought maybe if luck continued we may actually have won it. Then I realised, this is Spurs.....so no.

I honestly don't think I can take another year of looking at Ade and Defoe. If this isn't dealt with by 2014 season and cover for the winsg, then I really will promise myself to stop moaning about things that clearly will never change.

The annoying thing is when he's on his game he isn't mediocre which is why Arse, City, Real and Spurs bought him.

and Real took him on loan!

The only problem we have now is who is going to want Ade after this season and his previous of just one season wonders? I really can't see anyone taking this overpriced player of our hands. Malaga are now financially fudged, PSG don't need him, Madrid don't need him, the only place i can potentially see him going is somewhere like Qatar or one of them rich clubs or perhaps Anzhi or somewhere similar in Russia but then would he want a banana thrown at him every week?

He should now be known as Emmanueal "always wastes easy chances" Adebayor !
IMO, Adebayor is easily one of the worst ever striker we have bought in our history, up there with the likes of Rasiak, Booth, Postiga etc. Apart from one good season with Arsenal, don't think he has scored consistently for any team. The only reason he scored 17 goals for us last season was our midfield were creating too many chances for him. IIRC, he wasted something like 20-30 one-on-one chances last season and have continued to waste this season as well. As if that is not enough, he rarely shows any effort in matches.
