Emmanuel Adebayor - Officially gone \o/

Immense?! I'm no Ade-basher, but I thought he was poor at best today in the 90 minutes. No goal threat, no creativity, inconsistent touch and hold-up play...

Yeah, I'd say his work rate was good but the quality wasn't his best. 6 out of 10 performance for me I think, and that may be being generous! Feel sorry for the team at the moment, it really is lacking balance and players are out of position.

Poor??? Goodness me...

Funny how opinions can differ so much immediately after one game, eh?! As I say, I'm not inherently anti-Ade... what did you think he did well today? Finishing? He had that tame shot when he should have played in Siggy, and the other shot into the side-netting when he was through on goal but took one touch too many... creativity? I don't recall him making a single creative pass... hold-up play? I remember more than a few occasions where his touch and hold-up play let him down.

Plus he was needlessly offside a couple of times, as he is prone to.

Again, what did you think he did well?

All of you having a dig at him after that performance and effort are embarrassing 'fans'. Pathetic to be honest.

His penalty was beyond brick but fudge me, he worked his gonads off

I'm not digging out his effort or performance today, I'm digging out his general play since he tried to hold everyone to ransom in the off season. I truly cannot wait until we get rid of him. In the 25 years I have been going to the Lane, this season's striker's go down as probably the worst I have had the pleasure to watch.

I cannot bare to watch him anymore. It also plays with me that I really really do not like watching football with one striker. Football has got brick with one striker brick.

I can't stand the guy. Every match he plays is the same, once he senses things aren’t quite happening for him he actually reduces his work rate or gives up completely. He can't leave the club soon enough. Disgraceful.

Still have to get behind him, he is basically all we have currently, he had the balls to take a pen and wasnt the only one missing, cant see any abuse for the other players that missed

We have Emirates Marketing Project next, he always seems up for it against them so hopefully the penalty miss doesnt dent his confidence too much.

Hudd? Say what you will, at least he didn't do a strange tribal dance in the run-up, and at least he got it on target.

He took a terrible penalty, and chose the wrong option when in possession too many times. He worked extremely hard, though, so some of that is forgiven.

He played as a lone striker with little support from the midfielders and tried his best. His touch wasn't the best but it's often been far worse. Those missed chances weren't sitters and at least he tried to connect onto the few through balls he received.
Also he often held it up adequately imo (certainly better than anyone else in our squad might have on that wet and zippy pitch)
I think we all have to recognise that he isn't playing in front of the most quick-releasing midfiled we have ever had. If he was constantly missing sitters played to him so he could run in begind a defence i could understand, but he mostly is not
