Eli Junior Kroupi

I want him as our third striker next season. But the only issue with that is I question how much game time he would get.

To clarify this is of course about Lankshear

Given the injury history of the other two strikers over the past couple of seasons I would imagine he would get plenty…

…and given the quality of those other two I would hope it wouldn’t take plenty for him to prove himself as our best striker!

He isn’t even mid-table PL quality yet. I get that people always tend to overrate youngsters and Lankshear has a fair chance of making it at PL level but if Lankshear played more than half a dozen games for us next season then we’re unlikely to be troubling the European places IMO.

So an updgrade on Solanke and Richy only able to claw us up to 17th then?

For me this deal is a little too expensive for the body of work he's produced. We'd essentially be spending a proven quality fee on someone who has had just the one season. I'd feel a little uncomfortable with that.

It might well be the chance to get a future great but it's such a gamble, I'm not sure it's one we should make. The gambles we should be making is trying to sign Kroupi when Bournemouth for £10m.

I guess I think back to the season Solanke came in under Ange. What was completely clear was that when he wasn't in the side we struggled tactically. Neither Richi or Son could play 9 in that system, and Dom was the enabler for others like Sonny and Johnson to get the goals. There was a lot of mention that Dom was our own version of Firminho.

So as we look forward to life under RDZ will we suffer with the same dilemma of not having a real focal point of the team at 9 if Dom isn't available? That leads me to think that RDZ will be the type of manager who want 2 similar players for each position. He won't want 2 different types of 9. He will want like for like replacements.

Dom and Lankshear?

I’m assuming that we sign Kroupi or someone else and only having one of Richarlison or Solanke staying. I’d prefer Solanke stays than Richarlison.
