Eberechi Eze

So I guess we're back to something like the list I came up with when Maddison first got injured....

Xavi Simons is 100% available. He wants Chelsea (no doubt because they are offering him a big wage). Time for us to act like a big boy if we want to be considered one of the big boys I think!

I'd be happy with any of the below to be honest. Asensio should be a reasonably easy deal to do and he proved at Villa he has what it takes to play PL football.

Xavi Simons is available and a very good player. Suspect we don't want to pay the big wages these types of players demand however.

Oihan Sancet at Bilbao is a fine player and moving to us would be a step up.

De Kettelaere is top class and players can always be prized away from Atalanta.

Rodrigo Mora at Porto is an incredible young talent. Only 18 years old but already good enough. Would take a very large bid though. I expect him to be at Chelsea in a year's time.

The Ukranian player, Georgiy Sudakov, is a very good footballer and I think he would be gettable for a not too ridiculous fee.

Bilal El Khannouss, who we have been tentatively linked to, is a really good young player and would be a good signing for us.

Paz we've been linked with and is a very good player. Milot we missed out on (crazy that we were never in for him at that release clause).

Also, as mentioned in last post, Asensio from PSG. 1 year left and surplus to requirements there. Will clearly want a big wage but should be available for a lowish fee.

We seemingly done just that with Conor Gallagher the other year but correct me if I'm wrong but there was no pats on the back for not hanging around on that deal -- typical case of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

If we target PL proven first team ready players then we run the risk of being in for a player along with the clubs higher than us in the pecking order - and if they come in then it is unlikely we'll be the preferred destination, that's the long and short of it really - nothing changes there until we have a team that mixing it with the best.
We couldn't agree a fee with Chelsea for Conor Gallagher. The manager wanted him but the club didn't really go for him with any conviction.

Paz is now being talked about again
Makes as much sense and an Argentinian friend for cuti
Assensio didn’t seem to be a 10 for me but was great for Villa, no arguments
Chelsea have done terms with Simon’s but haven’t done the deal with the club… where have we heard that before

Hence why he is 100% avaialable. If we match Chelsea's terms then we might get him. Of course it might also cause Chelsea to just stump up the money but we'll never know unless we try.

They are collecting players
But they have a gig in charge who is failing on that investment
They have put together a very good squad. I hope it fails spectacularly for them but they are signing good players even after getting pretty close to success these past 3 years.

I'm not sure what a 'gig in charge' is but I think Arteta has done a good job there and got them to a very competitive level that he's not happy to maintain but contantly trying to get them to take the last step.

Sorry. Guy in charge
He has done a decent job but there is always an excuse
It has Poch vibes for me
Doesn’t know how to get it over the line
Although I did raw he has changed some of his coaches which may make a difference
Pep has done that and he knows how to win

The fans enable us to be seen as fudging up.
A deal was apparently agreed, we can't force anyone to sign it, if it's agreed why wasn't it signed, it can only be because they didn't want to.
That's not on the club and tbh if the deal is agreed and the seller or the player is dragging their heels we should walk away.
If we had walked away them levy is accused of being cheap.
I don't blame the club, I have no beef with palace or Eze, they are all doing what's best for them, but our fans, jeez.

To much sense in that post for the ranters to understand.

Poch got us close but our club stopped investing to try to help us make the next step. Arsenal are continuing to invest trying to make the last (and hardest) step

I wonder if Havertz hadn't had got injured whether they would have gone for him ?
I’m sure they had it all lined up as per Miguel Delaney’s report
We just didn’t know or wasn’t sure
You don’t react to one player being out for a few months by throwing £70m at the issue
