I read numerous articles about Ange’s teams a good one from the Athletic) last season, the gist of most of them was that Ange’s teams suffer injuries in the first season whilst they get adjusted to his methods, but things return to normal in the second half of the season. That clearly hasn’t happened this season. It can’t just be bad luck 2 seasons in a row. Whilst perhaps it’s unfair to lay the blame on Ange, I think it’s fair to ask why we are still getting so many injuries.
I've said this before, it's a fair criticism and something that needs looking at, and apparently there is an internal investigation into our injury situation. That wasn't what I was debating mind....

Not really in isolation though it’s part of a 10 match unbeaten run. And Saudi Sportswashing Machine were on a 9 match unbeaten run.
The whole point was to do with the injury situation which for them has only recently been a thing, and the comments around 'See that's how you cope' etc You won't get any argument from me around them being on a good run and that he looks a good manager....

It was daft
Maybe he felt he didn’t have the options but it was not how you rotate a team
As everyone seems to wanna be Bournemouth now… they make the most subs of any team in the league (or did until a few weeks ago). Their subs also have the highest impact as in scoring or creating late goals.

At 4 nil up against West Ham you can play Lanks and give the lad minutes...........that benefits then down the line two fold

I’ve checked out Bournemouth’s injuries….
I’m really not sure where the numbers get quoted from but hey …
Form what I can tell, of the players who start their games they are missing
Evanilson and Tavernier and smith
Adam smith has missed the last 4 games
There is a lad called James Hill out who played vs Chelsea
Unal got injured early Jan but he averaged 20 minutes a game previously
Senesi, araujo, Scott and Sinisterra all were injured before their great run

I think the key with injuries is of they are spread out over the season it’s manageable
Pool have had injuries this season but it’s barely been noticed because it’s been at CB when they still had 3 others or in attack where they had 8 options
They also rotate better than anyone
Ipswich have had loads of injuries from what I can tell but as we don’t know their team we haven’t noticed

Also if Bournemouth are a team that get so many injuries playing one game per week then do we really want their manager at a club that expects to be playing 2 games a week?
It’s a fair counter
I think he is a great manager
Could see it last season
But i also think we have a plan that we have to stick too
The two are very independent of each other

We didn’t play son up front with Maddison behind?
No
We played with a guy who was a CF but is now a wide forward who offered no presence .. just like son. And of course we all know Werner can’t finish but have you seen sonny’s finishing this season? It’s bad. He was (was) a guy who outscored his xg. Now he hits pea rollers at keepers or just doesn’t shoot and panics. It’s not the guy we had a few years ago because we play with the ball now

Son is a streaky player but as a finisher compared to Werner? it’s chalk and cheese.

Its a fair comment although every club in the PL is now running at an injury crisis currently, give then sports more about athletics than technique its not a shock to me in some respects.

Poch also had a lot of injuries throughout his time as manager and to key players too because his squad was small. But he managed them in such a way to ensure we (mostly) stayed competitive. Actually scrub “mostly.”

But he suited Ange’s system when it was at its peak in terms of results.
Did it…
Or was it… as everyone here claims that teams found out who we played and adjusted and then he just became “meh”
As I said earlier, he scored against teams that attacked us. Teams that low blocked us he didn’t fancy the battle and ran away.
I appreciate your not gonna go over old threads but the data and evidence is there

Injuries are to be expected to some degree - a manager who can cope with them is a positive
