Dominic Solanke

Think he's the type of player that picks up the scraps (exactly like his goal), something we haven't had a in a while, be good if we can add ugly/scrappy goals more regularly
Another scrappy one for the collection.

And another good performance. Said it before that he's a very well rounded player, but having seen a bit more of him now his first touches really look great. Small sample and all that, but really like that.

that's why we should shoot from outside the box more often - son and kulu especially when they cut in from the wings. kane scored from a lot of tap ins too.

One thing I noticed which was great striker instinct; he had his back to goal as Sonny was running with the ball, the second he saw Sonny was shaping to shoot, he had turned and was heading in for any scraps. Love that.

also he fights to stay on his feet, unless taken down.
richy needs to learn to stay on his feet if he wants to regain his starting position.
if solanke continues scoring i can see us selling richy asap

I can’t see us selling Richarlison now. With the difficulties Richarlison has had, he won’t want to move to a club overseas as needs to retain some constant. Plus when he’s fit and ready to go, he will be a better stand in than Werner. And our first choice backup striker.

Lankshear could prove himself in future but that’s somewhat down the line still.

Yeah that was great. The goal looks like a tap-in, but the awareness and speed to be there before any defenders is a definite skill.

Still needs a few more goals to fully settle, but looking promising so far.

Agreed. His strength, hold up play and technique are far better that I expected. Looks a very good player

Lovely to see him get another goal. Seems to be settling in nicely now.
Did he run himself into the ground for the cause again?
Just hoping he has enough left in the tank for Sunday so he can continue his current scoring run (plus his run against Man Utd)

He did indeed, even more so with us being down to ten for the majority of the match.

Not buying a number 9 was not an option. Ange's system needs 2, if not 3, of them in the greater squad.

What I like about Solanke is that even if he doesn't register a goal or assist you know he will contribute in so many different ways. That is so different from the Kane that left Spurs, who would be a complete passenger physically. The other valid point others have made is that there are so few of these types of players around, and we've got one with PL experience.

What I'm wondering about Solanke is just how good he actually is. Despite him being so likeable and a good fit, I do wonder what our perception will be of him in the future.

Yep, the 44, the 55 and the 66 all just stood and watched Solanke sprint onto the parry by 99.
