Djed Spence

I respect his personal decision to move and good luck to him, but from a club perspective, it just feels like a bad move. He needs replacing, so if this fee goes towards the forward line, it’s a shortsighted move. Having Gray (who hates playing there) as the backup RB is asking for trouble on multiple fronts.

There might be other options. Gallagher has the tools to be a good RB? Maybe George Abbott?

Gallagher is going too, initially at least be our starting #10, Abbott has been nowhere to be seen over pre season and it’s still putting a square peg into a round hole, with no new signing it will be Gray, if it’s going to be a youngster it’s most likely to be Kyermaten.

Maybe Byfield when he is back.

Thank you to Djed for his hard work and commitment whilst he was with us. It’s a good move for him. I’m sure Milan remains an exciting place to live and Inter an exciting club to play for. And with Dumfries moving to Real Madrid he already has a right back role there for him.

I think we sold too cheap but evidently we sold at the price that we could get.

A really shame. Djed has shown some real grit and determination to turn his career round here when it looked like there was no hope. In an ideal world I have a feeling if we were in Europe he'd be more inclined to stay but it looks like he wants to be playing regularly week in and out in his preferred position.

Good luck to him and hope he shines at Inter.

For those on re the fee, top 5 most expensive FB transfers (over age of 25). Based on initial reporting, it would put Spence 4th or 5th.

All the best DJed, criminally underused by the club over his time here, quite a few manager’s culpable in that. Glad he showed what he’s capable of in the end and don’t really blame him for not feeling he has to stay with us or owes us anything. Great opportunity for him, go get ‘em!!

Well seeing as all i hear on here is how brick our strikers are from a few then i would think that is a priorty over buying another RB.
Striker should be priority but I wouldn't want to go into the season with 1 recognised RB. Porro has been very fit and available but he has been injured for us before and who is to say he doesn't get some sort of knock at some point this season that night keep him out? Who plays RB then?

I liked the idea of having them both because that's the type of squad we should be aiming for, depth of quality. Right now we have some quality but it's really paper thin and a series of injuries (which will happen) to the wrong players and suddenly the starting 11 will start looking quite similar to the last 2 seasons. So yes striker is priority but we do need to have a real plan for the RB alternative otherwise it will inevitably become a problem.

another dumb sale. I totally get he wants to start. he should start. His best position is Left back. But yet in the last year we have signed Souza, Robertson and retained Davies. I like Udogie but he cant stay fit. For me I would have Spence over all of them. And this is what RDZ should have said to them. And worst of all. 31m for him? thats robbery. Getting dismayed with the sales we are making. I would not sell spence and I would not have sold Lankshear

I do not disagree with most of that to be honest, however according to some on here we do not have any good strikers at all. So we have players who can fill in at FB if needed but there are those who think we have no strikers who are any good.

I suppose it all depends on their personal slant on things.
