Djed Spence

Good luck to him. Rarely shied away or let us down when called upon.

Can’t help but feel this stunts Gray’s development more as he’ll be the natural back up for Porro who will inevitably get injured this season.

Sale only makes sense to me if the player wanted to leave, and while his stock is as high as it is now after the World Cup I can’t blame him for wanting to be first choice somewhere. Looks a bargain for Inter too

Thing is, the way De Zerbi wants his FBs playing, Gray will be pushing up a fair amount if he has to deputize. Frankly, anything that gets him on the pitch is a huge benefit to us.

Shame imo

Was into the idea of Spence playing RB with Poro ahead of him whilst we're waiting for Kudus and Kulu to get fully fit. For this price we should have kept him, but if we can turn him and Romero into one elite forward it will make sense. Still seems half price. Whilst Spence hasn't delivered in attack yet, he carries the ball well, and can man mark the very best attackers using his pace to good effect. He's a 50m player and could add a lot more to his offensive game. There are hints of it coming together. But fair dues he wants to start games, and I'm sure he'll impress in Italy and secure a much bigger move off the back of it.

Games where they have played over 45 minutes.

Djed Spence 24/25 & 25/26
60 Games
21 Wins / 9 Draws / 30 Losses - 1.20 PPG
102 Goals Conceded - 1.70 GCPG
13 Clean Sheets - 21.67%

Destiny Udogie 24/25 & 25/26
53 Games
25 Wins / 11 Draws / 17 Losses - 1.62 PPG
52 Goals Conceded - 0.98 GCPG
16 Clean Sheets - 30.01%

Tottenham Hotspur 24/25 & 25/26
112 Games
43 Wins / 22 Draws / 47 Losses - 1.35 PPG
174 Goals Conceded - 1.55 GCPG
26 Clean Sheets - 23.21%

Over the course of a 38 game season the equates to 16 more points, 3 more clean sheets and 27 less goals conceded when Destiny Udogie players over 45 minutes vs Djed Spence.

A lot of variables to be incorporated into the context of this but agree that Udogie is the much better player when fit, and seems a much more reliable character too.

Not sure about that mate, for all the clobbering VdV's taken from our fans over the last 12 months, @RDZ leant heavily on him for those final games, got him back to some form, and he showed up when the going was toughest.
Not bagging on Djed at all -the facts are that for whatever reason, RDZ didn't fancy him.
I was trying to slobber MVDV made. I was applying the same logic.

I hate the whole "we finished 17th" when talking about individuals like they were solely responsible
