Wanna bump this as I thought he was great yesterday. He allows us to play higher and is so aggressive and strong. Also makes the right choices in attack.

Yeah, it's just the fitness, I feel similarly about Solanke. Impossible to really judge either of them in our shirt. He's such a good 1v1 defender. So strong. Keeping him fit will go a long way towards us having a good season.
Whether we have Tel, Marmoush or Gakpo playing ahead of him, he is such a valuable compatriot for them to have.Wanna bump this as I thought he was great yesterday. He allows us to play higher and is so aggressive and strong. Also makes the right choices in attack.
Ooh-doh-jaySo, that's how you say his name! Timestamped when De Zerbi says his name.
RDZ is just guessing based on the usual Italian way of pronouncing GSo, that's how you say his name! Timestamped when De Zerbi says his name.

Yeah his surname isn't Italian so the Italian pronunciation rules aren't relevant. He's Bini/Edo in Nigeria and I believe the general way it's been pronounced in the UK is roughly correct as Udogie says himself.RDZ is just guessing based on the usual Italian way of pronouncing G
Udogie himself will know!
The Italian letter G can be pronounced in a few different ways.
1. When G precedes a soft vowel (E, I), it is pronounced like the soft g in "gel." Phonetic symbol: [dʒ]

2. When G precedes a hard vowel (A, O, U) or R, it’s pronounced like the hard g in "granite." Phonetic symbol: [g]

Now, Udogie has been speaking to Football.London, and shed some light on the pronunciation, and meaning, of his unique name.
For those wondering, Udogie is pronounced: “ooh-doggy.”
And, as an extra little bit of information, his full name is actually Iyenoma Destiny Udogie. The player told Football.London that he found out recently that Iyenoma means “good news,” which is a promising sign if Spurs fans needed one.

Yeah the British way is too relaxed with the double e but English speakers are gonna struggle to get it right regardless.I’ve heard brits trying to explain how to pronounce Bergvall, so I’m not having it!according to what I assume are Italian and Nigerian people commenting on a «pronounciation guide», it seems it could be pronounced the «English» way «uh doggy», the Italian way «udojee» or the Nigerian way «u-dog-i-ye». So who knows what the man himself uses. It doesn’t matter though, just found De Zerbi’s pronounciation interesting.
Crispin Bouquet-FeatherstonehaughI like when foreign people corrupt and tailor the pronunciation of my name, it makes me feel a little adopted, and maybe a bit exotic too
