Destiny Udogie

As i said in the match thread, it was lack of communication that led to the first goal as Udogie and Johnson ( who ran past Saka) both went to the overlapping runner. If Johnson had gone to Saka i think he puts him off / wins the ball as Saka had no idea he was behind him.

2 kids playing together for the first time, these things happen.
Said exactly the same, in those situations Johnson passes the runner on to Udogie and Johnson then takes Saka. It’s about taking the man nearest to you and not doing unnecessary running, it’s really quite a basic thing. You’ll see it happen all the time in those situations and it’s clearly what Udogie was expecting to happen.

just bad communication by 2 kids playing in their first 15 minutes together. Not the end of the world.

Of a tactical call that went wrong
Johnson was not asked to do any defensive work of note all game so maybe it was the plan

He let Saka cut inside for the first goal.

I assume he's watched all the videos where anything Saka does of note comes from cutting in, so he shouldn't have allowed it.
Yes, on MotD2 Romero is not happy with Udogie allowing Saka to cut back in on his left. Romero points at his left leg and says "Left, left" at Udogie.

Probably not adding anything new to this conversation, but he's been shockingly good. Fits the system just about perfectly and that's obviously huge, but the way he's settled in, imposes himself on games, takes responsibility, deals with difficult circumstances (like the yellow followed by giving away possession). Just incredible from a 20 year old new to the league.

There's nothing to say he won't get even better, but even just performing consistently at the level he's at and he's a truly special player.

What must Liverpool's black players think when they see their own supporters abusing the opponent's black players?

To be fair, some of our fans were accused of the same against Sheffield United and the club had to release a statement. Unfortunately, this sort of scum walks amongst every fan base.

Of course but we attacked our own fans about it, rightly so

Liverpool should at least address it with their fans...I bet they don't though

You reckon they'll go with the "blame someone else" approach or wear t-shirts defending the racists next weekend?

They will be protesting VAR next game, absolutely nailed on haha

They won't address the racism because then it would acknowledge it exists in their fanbase, even online. That would be pandoras box for Liverpool

Waiting for the Liverpool players to wear shirts in support of their racist fans just as they did in support of their racist player.
