Daniel Levy - Chairman

@Maltese Falcon - Hey, don't misrepresent me, mate ;) . As I've said many, many times before, i'm fine with Levy as a person - indeed, I'm genuinely happy he hasn't caused untold misery via corrupt appropriation of state assets, via denial of human rights and systemic abuse of vulnerable people, or via the economic turmoil caused by currency speculation on Black Wednesday (Messrs Abramovich, Mansour and Joe Lewis, respectively). He's just a very good businessman, and a Spurs fan, which makes him a good egg in my book. I'm also happy enough with his competent (if nothing else) stewardship of the club all the way up to about 2010 - it's only the subsequent period I have a real problem with, and that too only with his (imo) considerably risk-averse, inept handling of football affairs and (to a much lesser extent) with ticket prices and the general club-supporter relationship.

@parklane1 - Shall we continue talking past each other, then? You go on misunderstanding my position and having a snide snipe at people who share my views with your regular stream of unconvincingly-disguised, caustic posts, and I'll continue calling you out on your amusingly tone-deaf one-track crusade when I see it happening. Much more civil that way, I feel. :p

You poor misunderstood soul , nothing could be further from the truth then that. Its pretty obvious you have a hard on for Levy and you only have to read your posts to see the bitterness come out from every pore.. But you go ahead and convince yourself you are misunderstood " fools gold".

Ha! Something you clearly never do. Anyway, as @milo indicates, no point derailing this thread any further.

@parklane1 @DubaiSpur how about you guys bury the hatchet or work through things via PM

Noted. If you feel any of my posts are derailing the general progress of this thread, please feel free to move them.

From the Telegraph this morning from Alex Ferguson's latest book, 'Leading'.

Even Fergie couldn't get the better of Daniel Levy

The process of negotiating with Tottenham's notoriously tough paymaster Daniel Levy on transfer deadline day is likened to being "nailed to a flagpole". The deal in question, the signing of Dimitar Berbatov in 2009, takes several energy-sapping turns, with Levy throwing several curve balls in United's direction - from suddenly inflated transfer fees, to demands to sign the striker Fraizer Campbell on loan. Eventually the deal is done with seconds to go until the midnight deadline. "That whole experience was more painful than my hip replacement," Ferguson suggests.

i cant believe Levy demanded Frazier Campbell ...............Ferguson and Gill must have had a sneaky private giggle at that and thought, be our guests:)

Fail ... how do you know they got brains :D

Now hang on a minute, I have you know I have at least one brain cell left.

Have to agree .. Spurs fans are fudgeing deluded (nothing special about footy fans bitching about management) .. about half the chairmen in the league are disliked, at least we don't have planes flying over with get out signs ...
Oh GHod why did you have to say that, some macarons will think about that now. As someone once said "it's a funny old game" when I was a kid I didn't know who the Chairman was and couldn't give a toss anyway, it's the football I liked. Stands back and waits for 14 paragraph responses explaining the complexities of the modern football world and my naivety.

You are right, we shouldn't care.

Modern marketing has actually got people to believe that commercial success = actual success, best example is look at xbox/playstation (mac/pc, pick your poison) articles, where fans boast/argue over which outsold the last one, why should you give a brick? it should be do you enjoying playing the games on yours.

Sky has managed to convince fans that 4th place is a better achievement that trophies/playing style, and being a big club means you are on the Deloitte richest list. (not history/fanbase/achievements)

I did. Richardson and Wale sold to man called Irving Scholar in 1982. I was a youth ST holder. Irving was a supporter. he paid 9 million to renovate the East Stand (at the time an enormous amount of money) left two pillars in it and cost us a decent shot at a future. He wasn't malicious he was naive. Hummel? Nice kit but should we have been investing in them? probably not. I loved the football, always, went home and away. Then came a man called Alan Sugar. Hmmm. In reference to Raziel, the only footy game I ever played was Subutteo (diving goalie with cap!!!!!!) and I have never played a PSP footie game. You're not naive but I'll bet you're allowing yourself to be purposefully under-informed? BTW, I don't believe for one minute you didn't know who the chairman was, unless you're speaking of when you were 6 mate?

No I didn't he was just and old bloke in glasses standing next to Danny Blanchflower holding the 1st division championship trophy. I did know Bob Lord was the owner of Burnley but that was because he always had something to say. One thing I do know is that I have no influence on how things are run at Tottenham and never will, I find this applies to most things in life.
