Although Matt Hanrooster says "I'm confident now with the news today that from spring, from Easter onwards, things are going to be better and we're going to have a summer next year that everybody can enjoy."
So that probably puts the kibosh on it, as you can't believe a word that guys say...Hanrooster just guaranteed COVID-21 incoming in February.

We got a pretty good spread of the different types of vaccines, skewed a bit to the Astra Zeneca one but can always buy more of the others. I think this is one thing they've got right in hedging their bets across so many types of them. Can always buy more - they bought 2m more doses of the Moderna one last week for instance.

The Government doesn't approve the vaccine. as they said this morning, "the recommendation from the independent Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency to approve Pfizer/BioNTech’s Covid-19 vaccine for use".

Yes but I think reading your posts so many of them in the political thread come from a place of hatred that I think your blinded when they have any form of success.
The was a certain tone from a few posters from other countries of how stupid the British government were for not doing this or not doing that.
I know that I was not the only one who thought it from the PM's I received in my inbox congratulating me for standing up to at what times had it been the other way around would have bern considered a xenophobic attack.
* I did not vote for this government and will not vote for them at the next election either. I try to keep an impartial line as a rule of thumb.

got a friend who works at a GSK, and to get to the stage of human testing is incredibly difficult, they don't move to human trials for anything put together in a lab. The amount of data and evidence to get anywhere near to human trials in a ridiculously high bar. We are now past that stage.
Believe me, nothing has been 'rushed' in terms of safety, they have not wound back regulations to achieve this, there has been a concerted global effort, but if a vaccine is approved and ready to be taken, i'd be first in line if possible. Honestly, i cannot stress enough how much evidence is needed to get to this stage.

Definitely (if we truly do that, bit questionable as to whether we're guided by scientists). But the point is, this is our regulatory agency that's approved, which is considered (albeit loosely) independent on decision making of vaccines. It's more down to having a really impressive regulatory agency in the UK.
