There's no such thing as covid normal. That's just a rebranding of abnormal to make it seem ok.
Edit: no doubt there will be "but we have more people in the UK" - that's missing the point. The fact is, we did something about it about the numbers.
This thread will continue with the same nonsense about what to call your fake lockdowns and the anti-lockdowners continuing to lament the economic damage caused by the UK government doing fudge all to resolve the situation one way or the other. Meanwhile, we will be getting back to COVID-normal and, all continuing to go well, will be restarting our economy soon enough.

I'm just planning on waiting. It will eventually.Like I said last time, keep wishing the global pandemic to end, I’m sure the power of your thoughts will work eventually.
continuing to lament the economic damage caused by the UK government doing fudge all to resolve the situation one way or the other.
Or child poverty, welfare, health and mental health deterioration due to restrictions. But continue to omit that from your posts to make it seem like we are all just having an economic versus lives conversation.
Can you show me the stats supporting that in Melbourne? Genuinely would be curious to know how much things have increased because a) only a macaron would think being locked up at home doesn’t increase those things b) the news I watch every night and the daily press conferences from the Victorian premier hasn’t mentioned much
Im talking about the UK
The economy barely survived as it was. Any more of a lockdown and it would have been completely fudged. The UK isn’t doing lockdown. You’re doing the in between nonsense of “circuit breakers” and pubs that close at 10pm
My point is that if you had done lockdown properly the first time, or even the second time, then it’s likely you wouldn’t be in the situation you are in. And the economy wouldn’t be as damaged. And all the things you mentioned wouldn’t be quite as bad. Because the whole thing would be over sooner. I just literally cannot understand how that notion is so hard to comprehend.

I guess it's easier when your main exports are racism, brick beer and bartenders.

We did a lockdown and it did not work yet the affect has been to all that I have mentioned and more, a circuit breaker will be another lockdown, maybe two weeks maybe longer as being predicted by politicians in the news. Half the country is now under restrictions, not just pubs closing at 10pm BTW so you are not really following the story closely enough maybe why you cant comprehend.
Fact is if you sandwich the year with a lockdown and a circuit breaker the way the UK are and people are still dying and we have doubled down on that by killing people at home and plunging millions into welfare and health issues then its not working clearly.
The lockdown was a shambles, too many ignored it.
Yep that works, picking an example of an area not under restriction, Norwich is hardly a reflection of the whole country
So why can’t they have fans for home games then? It’s just another example of the inconsistent semi-lockdown.
Too many ignored the rules that existed when we came out too. If people we able to take the fact the could see a limited number of family and mates rather than having a BBQ for 20/30 or could continue to social distance when in shops like the rules state rather than heard about in Sainsburys then we would have done alot better.
