Coronavirus

This is what drives a lot of right wingers, the idea that there are hordes of people leaching off the 'system' at their personal expense. But not them, oh no, not them They are all paragons of working virtue and self interest never occurs to them. Yeah right! the self righteousness of the right writ large. Psstt, don't talk about tax evasion!

From my POV it was more a case of conversation based on people just taking a test when not needed which is human nature and becAuse of mixed messages. The avoiding work part hadn't hit my mindset that doesn't make sense TBH. Taking a test doesn't mean you have it so not sure taking a test helps with that.

I think people just feel they need to take a test when they potentialy dont need to because naturally want to know

Using that logic, you could just as easily say that it is wise to not work too hard and wear yourself out.

If your not expecting someone else to pick up the bill go for it. Im 53 and work part time in a hobby job for something to do. Im not asking for money off anyone.

If you dont want to work to hard that is your prerogative and you work hard when your young to earn that right. But you also cant moan if people take more holidays then you or drive a nicer car.

Yes, being productive should be a civic duty and so should paying the right amount of tax. Tax avoidance is the preserve of the rich in any meaningful sense, sadly. So one group need to met their social obligations, but not the other.

You never bought Duty Free in your life? Put money into an ISA? Paid into a pension fund? Ever bought a house that went up for sale just under a Stamp Duty border?

If I did it wouldn't be tens to hundreds of thousands of pounds worth, being PAYE I have little scope for that. Some corporates and rich individuals pay next to no tax, thanks to your local Tory government, it's all part of their neo liberal dream. These people have the temerity to have a go at so clalled 'scroungers' and 'lazy British workers.' IMHO, they have something of a credibility gap.

I disagree. Their tax liability is what HMRC can prove beyond doubt, in court, that they owe. No more, no less - that's been established time and time again.

Do you ask you employer to donate extra chunks of your salary to HMRC?

Ha, that is only because the tax laws are rigged to make it easy for the parasitic clams. That is my whole point, it is a rigged game, rigged against ordinary British PAYE workers PAYE have to pay more and services go into decline. That it oh so moral isn't it?

400% there’s people out there doing this.

The schools also need to be sensible. My niece had a stomach bug . Was kept off school but to go back needed a Covid test. It was a 24 hour thing that they pick up. Had to go get a test. It was a total waste of time and a test.

There will be kids swinging it , causing havoc for whole form and year groups. Causing possibly 100s to need testing.

I also know teachers who would happily sit at home getting paid to do very little.

27% of people are turning up without symptoms according to the gov

I don't see a blanket lockdown TBH

London has been relatively low for the rate increasing because the city is dead and people are staying local unlike the North where people tend to live and work more centrally.

I would be shocked if they don't try and get London workers back to test the infection rate before a new blanket lockdown

Common sense? Human nature? Beaches? Parks?

Pretty naive if think other wise.

It's pretty sad and cynical for you to view people that way.

Being on 80% wages has likely put many under big financial stress, especially those who live pay to pay.

The overwhelming majority on furlough are desperate to get back working.
