Contingency planning : When Ange is sacked, who should replace him?

how about Edin Terzic.

did well with dortmund, has experience in the premier league as assistant coach and has an attacking style similar style playing from deep and using full backs to add numbers in attack - will be an easy transition given the players we have.

no achievements yet, but getting dortmund to the CL final puts his at least on Poch level. only in his 40s so can commit to a long term project.

after nuno jose and conte and now ange .... i think its going to be hard to find anyone.

Dortmund is a myth, actually have the 11th highest wages in Europe ...

There is always someone ... just like United and Chelsea will find the next guy ..

When Bournemouth, Brighton, Fulham, Brentford and Forest get a manager are they expected to win throphies and qualify for CL or are their aims to stay in PL and improve the team? I'm sure we could find a manager to meet the latter but is that what we want or do we have to have a manager who can achieve the delude aspirations of many fans? We are an underachieving team, the soon we realise this and start to rebuild with a proper plan and stick to it we might make progress where we can get a manager who fulfill the dream.

He sounds good on paper, although the were some reports saying he did tend to fall out with players quite a bit at Dortmund. I'm sure he would be on any shortlist though

Apparently he's good organising a defence, but really struggles to develop an effective attack

For me Slot was always the one. A pragmatic manager that also coaches the kind of football players like to play. Some people are saying that he used us to get a better deal at Feyenoord, but I think he would have come to us if we had thrown enough money at him and Feyenoord. I was always hoping that he would succeed Ange, but with our luck Klopp decided to call it quits when he did and Pool smartly snatched him up at a time when we were not looking for a manager.

So that leaves us with Alonso as the only up-and-coming manager out there. He's going to be infinitely more difficult to get than Slot back in 2023, but we should go all out for him.
