Can anyone explain the logic of Ange not being good enough on account of his achievements coming in lesser leagues, but Thomas Frank who has literally not even managed a match Europe is the right man?
There is a very specific group of people who wrote Ange off before his employment due to his previous top level experience or lack of pre joining Tottenham. These are not necessarily and are unlikely to be the same people open to Thomas Frank joining us.

I know it's a bit of a sticking point for you because it was rather an irrelevant and unfair angle to attack Ange from but it's really not the main jist of many people's issues with him like myself. I literally couldn't care less where he had managed before, I just care about a person's suitability to the role and too many people make too big a deal about previous experience when ultimately everyone was inexperienced at some point and has to be given the chance to succeed or fail.

Think the extent of that was the opinion that being successful in minor leagues doesn't mean you're going to be successful in the PL.

I remember saying something similar regarding Mourinho & Conte in that success with big/rich clubs doesn't mean they have skills that will transfer across to a 5th/6th richest club in the league.

Managers (like everyone) are not great at all things, right time/place/situation suitability, Pep would absolutely fail at a Brentford, I have no doubt, a core part of his system is having better players, Conte/Jose have hilariously been shown up by Ange (literally the two of them failing here and literally the next guy in the door from no recognized top league delivering a trophy is one of life's great gifts)

Ange won everyone over with his first 10 games - all the doubters were in. But he never got over Poch dismantling his gameplan that first November

Conte achieved CL qualification too, and had a higher PPG average.

I wouldn’t say he was shown up.

I think the fact that Frank is known to change up games tactically to accommodate instead of hiding behind what he doesn’t have will be refreshing.

There are no guarantees in the game and all new appointments are a risk to a certain degree.

This just feels like we have a likeable bloke who won’t grate on the media or the fans or at times turn us into a circus headline every week, will sit well with levy and co. We make enough of our own headlines without the likes of mourinho, conte or ange chipping in. By the way I’m not bringing in their qualities as managers. All three have had their successes.

Frank seems to know how to get the best out of players which is what our transfers are about.

The judgment will be if he can manage the stress at spurs and if the board will back him with his own choice of players.

My personal opinion is that this just feels right.
