My son and I had ST ( he was only 8 at the time) and was ill so i let my Dad have his ticket for the final, it was the first time i had seen us lose a Final at Wembley and i blamed him for it and never took him again.

Winks is Eriksen's closest backup for me. Lamela doesn't knit play together like Eriksen does. Different skills for me, more dynamic.

Winks usually plays deeper than Eriksen. He brings some of the same qualities for sure and being without both at the same time has a big impact for us.

Lamela is a more like for like replacement in terms of position on the pitch and also brings some of the same qualities that Eriksen does. I think an in form Lamela at the very least would minimize the impact of being without Eriksen (and Winks).

Depends I suppose. For me, Winks does what Modders used to do/Eriksen does now in so far as he knits the play together and makes things happen by being a skilled and tasteful conduit. Lamela is a little different and perhaps more explosively dynamic, furthermore not two-footed thus not quite the Eriksen role IMO...I would love to see Eriksen and Winks in the same side (Winks beside either Wanyama or Dier) FWIW...

Really wish lamela would use his right for something other then standing on. He has an amazing training grounf no wife or kids, if he wanted it he could ne great. 2 hours kicking with his right foot after training has finished, couple of months he would see a massive improvement.

It's puzzled me for a while how there still seem to be such one-footed players, even at the top levels of the game, with all the attention there is to every conceivable detail nowadays and the sort of facilities that are laid on for them. When people are apparently dedicated to trying to squeeze extra tenths of a percent out of every margin going, I'd have thought that would be an obvious area to start in. Maybe it's been tried and given up on.
 
Totally agree.

They have to be ultra fit because every second counts. But you see players slowly dragging the ball round onto their good foot. Meaning the chance to get tackled is greater and the chance of an assist less.

Completely mad.

Its a classic skillset argument - If you have a exceptional skill (great left foot) that is what got you to highest level of game, do you

- Work on other skills to more round out your abilities
- Focus on that exceptional skill and make it even more of a weapon?

Back to Eriksen, we need cover, our most important players have been Lloris, Toby, Jan, Eriksen & Kane for a couple of years now. We still have zero cover for Eriksen, Son can cover Kane short term, Sanchez/Dier can do a job as can Vorm.
