Christian Benteke

i watched some of his goals from the season gone by last night.....some real crackers, and also some great link up play with his team mates, especially with Wiemann

its a shame he will prove too expensive for us
 
More in the mirror that we are serious about the lad....... would we really break our transfer record for this raw rough around the edges talent.......

If we had Dembele, Sandro, Paulinho, Bale, Villa and Benteke plus Kaboul, Vertonghen and Lloris, we'd be a good outside bet for the title.
 
I think we are anyway. I think now that AVB has had a season with us, we'll be even better and Paulinho is an excellent acquisition, improves the quality of the first team.

If Baldini, AVB and the transfer team all agree that we should go for Benteke and they can make a deal that Levy accepts I will be very excited about Benteke signing.

Yes, I do realize my logic can easily be seen as circular.

You mentioned in another thread how people should trust their own eyes, what I'm trying to say is that most of us have probably seen that Benteke has a lot of potential. The question is can he turn that potential into consistent performances? For me at least I haven't seen enough of him to trust my own eyes on that, but I'm guessing the club has if we sign him.
 
I was impressed with him, I know it's only his first season in the EPL but he showed enough to suggest he is not just a flash in the pan.

What has happened too Belgium football recently? it's not as if they have had a progression of successful younger age international teams, not that I am aware of anyway, they just seem to have appeared on the scene with quality in all positions, but this is for another thread I suppose.
 
OMG, how many times can someone post that they think we should sign this player?

A) Not good enough

B) Too expensive

C) Not even remotely on our radar
