Cheatski are still scum

Didn’t they get a postponed transfer ban under Abramovich a few years back for academy irregularities so just went out and spent loads before the ban took effect? Or am I imagining that?

They have always done what they want when they want
I would love to do a full forensic accounts view of the FA & PL as 100% Chelsea have paid them off in some way or form

The combined £19.3m transfer fees for Samuel Eto'o and Willian from Anzhi Makhachkala were also paid off the books.

Payments of £1.37m were paid to director of football Frank Arnesen, plus scout and advisory Piet de Visser and an unnamed third member of staff. This was considered to be their wage.

Explains a few things!

Precisely. I think the punishment has been too light on Chelsea.

I’m sure there were news stories a good while back that Cheatski were “negotiating” with the PL about their punishment.
The whole thing stinks.

Problem with this whole Chelsea saga is that a precedent was set by Alan Sugar when he successfully argued that Spurs should not be docked 12 points and banned from the FA Cup as the irregularities were under a previous owner , Sugar won his case as the point deduction and ban were replaced by a large fine.
The fault lies with the PL and UEFA they should have investigated Abramovitch when he was still the owner of Chelsea , there were plenty of rumours about payments at the time . It is only because Boehly and Co did a through sweep through the accounts that the illegal payments were found and they were self reported so personally I am not surprised at the desicion of just a fine.

Also have a look at the sale timeline on the BBC about the Chelsea sale, 16th May Government insider says sale close to collapse. If you are the prospective buyer willing to pay out 4.25 billion pounds and you find discrepencies in the accounts do you just go ahead with the purchase and accept any future punishments like points deductions or do you go to the Government and say we want to buy the club but not if we are going to get points deductions or bans, Governnment then goes to PL and UEFA and asks them to only impose fines for the wrong doings so that the sale can go ahead.
The fact that Boehly announced something like 100 million pounds was being held back from the purchase for any fines in the future shows that this was the only result possible and I have no doubt the Government was involved as they had to get the sale of Chelsea through..
