Black Lives Matter

I disagree because we have no idea how the blacks are feeling in US. I would think they want to pull down the world.
Being law abiding citizens has got them treated terribly!
Chucking a pavement at one of these racist bastard must be so tempting!

I don’t you are totally right but some including his family don’t want that. If they are as clear headed as anyone then they are the example to follow.

Now it’s not as clear cut as that but a lot of this is marked as revenge, I’ve seen plenty of those banners and chants. No one should be calling for revenge, if anyone the family in their emotion but they are not.

They are mad as hell and I won't take it anymore?
As someone once famously said.

Yeh I was in America for work and was warned off areas for being white. But I do believe thats down to the years of them being oppressed by whites there is a deep routed hate.

Thats why in an earlier post I believe they need a figure head to educate and also trust. A black figure who has made good in America which shows you can make it, thats why I would love someone like Obama to say "look if this country was beyond repair I would not make it" although that message might be lost because Trump made it too ha.

But there does need to be education on all sides. Black communities need educating, thats not because its there fault but because there needs to be a way forward for them and one to understand which they probably can't see in certain communities where the B versus W tension is higher than others. Education that killing each other, guns and drugs is not the way forward which does without doubt add to all of this as one of the cogs in the bigger engine of prejudice.

I will give an example of a story to try and give light to explain what I mean.

My dad lives in a almost village up from Tilbury in Essex, has all his life, gas fitter for his life, never left the area, staunch Labour voter. About 25+ odd years ago I was in a pub with him watching the football when this Arsenal fan was going "this n**gger this, this n*gger that" when my dad pulled him up and said "Ian Wrights black I have seen you cheer him on in here, Kevin Campbell is Black, Rocastle is black" etc etc, the guy was like "thats different". The convo got our of hand and my dad dinged him one...My dad hatted racism, hatted it, from then on I would take notice all the time when he got upset hearing people slag off black people etc, in our area it was rife, I would say it was a hugely white area. I was at School with one mixed race kid in the whole years, thats an example.

Anyway fast forward to say the Olympics Stratford paid families and companies to move down the train line so to speak to the Essex towns of Rainham, Purfleet, Grays etc, all the towns where their money went further but was within say 30 mins of London, perfect. When that happened the demographic of Grays changed so much so quickly that people who had never ever experienced a culture change were suddenly exposed to a new way of living, now you had your deep routed racists like I mentioned before but also those that saw things change so quickly that they became another kind of racism which was in my opinion not about hate but about change and also about a lack of education in people that knew no different of why and who and what. And I saw that change in my dad, the man who earlier was a fighter for equality who hated the N word and would cringe when it was on a film, but I don't think he is racist in the same sense, and he does not speak in any way shape form in that way but there is an obvious view not as bad as prejudice that you can see in him and others.

The reason I wanted to tell that story is that I am not blind to obvious racism here but there is also some that comes down to a lack of education and knowledge, comes down to a lack of exposure, my dads less exposed to it than he would have been growing up in Croydon and I am more exposed as I have travelled.

Thats why for me education works, taking a step back from the noise and false news and fury if people can, I get its tense, but work towards whats really needed to solve the issue and thats on both sides.

Can I say that the any group of people would react in a similar way to a new group coming and wanting to change a way of life that the current inhabitants are happy with.
They aren't disliking them because of their skin colour, creed or whatever, its because they don't want to change. Nothing wrong with that, just as there is nothing wrong with the newer inhabitants wanting to continue in their lifestyle/culture.
Ideally they could both take something from each and improve their lives.
Attaching an easy label is wrong, but it helps a lot of people drive agendas.

I did, these racist zombies deserve everything they get!
I would save a bit in case I got a chance to lob it at Donald the bastard!

It must be soul destroying being black!

No doubt police forces attract a minority of recuits who are twisted fuks. If you want power, are a sadists, or just hold prejudices, how many jobs can you do that allow you to exercise your perversion? Not many. The police force is quite unique.

Derek Chauvin the officer who kneeled on this poor guy for 11 minutes or whatever, had 17 misconduct charges against him.

To those that think the UK is a separate story, you are right and you are wrong. The UK is a world away thankfully, most of our police are fantastic, far better than most forces in Europe. But there are still issues. And there are some parallels.

Black people are twice as likely to die in police custody in the UK than white people.
40% of the poorest UK households are black. 4% of the country are black.
50% of the UK prison population are black.

I don't have any - I know how I would react. I wouldn't kneel on someone's neck for 10 minutes but I'd be absolutely sure they couldn't stand up if they tried.

You do know that two police cuffed him and sat him down before pulling him back up before he ended up on the floor again being knelt on.

Seriously, I am actually intrigued by your continual refusal to accept what happened here versus your pathological need to scratch around for tenuous, uncooked reasons which would mitigate the murder charge. I am sure you will have a witty one or two liner ready to deliver, but I am genuinely intrigued...

I've seen "I'm dying" a few times.

I suspect police that work in neighbourhoods with heavy drug use hear it a lot more than others too.

Do you know any police personnel? I am friends with someone who did undercover drug work for two decades. I will say again he believes the behaviour here was heinous.

I have seen the video, in that sense I know as much as anyone can from watching it.

There's a really good reason why post mortems exist and are used to establish cause of death rather than videos on Twitter.

This video is a perfect example. Everyone using it to base their judgment here and on Twitter assumed the death was caused by not being able to breathe because of the pressure on his neck. Even the "decision for hire" coroner hired by the family tried to claim that. Yet the actual, real, independent evidence is that the cause of death was heart failure. Now it's likely that was caused by the police officer and his actions, but far less certain than asphyxiation would have been.

"Wait for the evidence" is not an extreme or indefensible stance to take. Unfortunately in the world of social media judgment and virtue signalling, it appears to be a rare one.

No, I don't socialise with police.

I don't deny the officer's actions were terrible and never have. I simply won't throw an accusation of murder at someone without better evidence.
