I'm not so sure it will really be that simple. Would Madrid just loan him for a season knowing that he'd then return to them on full wages?
I won't be surprised if we are able to have him for the next two years. At least.

Can't see us buying unless Bale takes a massive wage reduction. In 2 years, he's 33 so a two year loan may well suit us.
