Archie Gray

Most of stats are over last 365 days (FBRef) so for Gray it's a mess, two clubs, two leagues, 4 positions

I took a quick look, his tackles/interceptions are pretty low (odd exception of tackles high up pitch), his passing/progressive stuff good.

Like all data, you could cherry pick to tell whatever story you want but he has so much nuance (clubs/leagues/positions) and being 18, would be hard to read anything serious into it.
Stats are obviously always flawed, but even more so for centre backs. And even even more so for more "passive" centre backs.

Probably also not helped but him mostly playing in our worst spell in years and years.

Gray has loads more than just long passes. I don't think he's a dm, more an AM or all rounded midfielder who can carry the ball through the midfield with some silky turns

Match ratings for players on stats websites aren't really worth paying too much attention to, as they are probably just a preset algorithm/formula based on the stats for the game. In reality whether a player has had a good game or not is somewhat subjective and requires more than just % numbers for tackles/passes etc

Saw that, joint worst on fotmob with a rating of 6.1

Can't remember who else was bottom with him. But he is playing out of position, first season in the pl at 18 years old.

Liverpool (X2) Everton, Leicester, Saudi Sportswashing Machine and arsenal games killed his ratings. All 4 or 5

I use footmob for my score updates, but the match ratings are a bit of a joke, so heavily stacked to if a goal is scored or assisted, you could play like brick but if you scored off your arse in a 1 nil win then it’s star man 8+ rating. I’d never use it to judge a players performance.

How many points do you get in these stats for being fit for selection? None right?

Once again, we go into a big match and Gray is fit for selection whilst others aren't. This time it is Davies turn to miss a couple of games, joining the other 3 on the sidelines.

Due to some crazy squad circumstances, this will be Gray's 18th consecutive game.

I hope the kid gets a rest soon.

Started almost 50 games for Leeds last year as a 17/18 year old.

Even though Archie's playing time was limited at the start of the season, he's now wracked up 25 starts for Spurs this season with 3 months to go.

This is what Poch did with Dele. It's also what Fulham did with Sess.

I'll happily see him back on the bench.
Lets hope his career is a bit better than theirs.

I was laughing at Maguire on match of the day and my son says he was 7/10 on fotmob. Told me all I needed to know...

I would hope Gray is in consideration for player of the season along with Porro and Kulu.
(spurs player of the season that is).

Gray for Young Player of the Season and Kulu for (Senior) Player of the Season

Edit - just seen @Lemonade Money’s post. Yes Spence should be in the reckoning.

Spence is coming for it all, that's what he has said.

Best younger - Spence
Best Player - Spence
Best keeper - Spence
Best signing - Spence

He definitely won't win best dressed, but might win the best Spurs supporting sister award.
