Anybody here play snooker?

Ronnie was spot-on with the comments in week about standard too

Same in Darts where they are all good players but the desire to do it week in week out isn't there, probably down to the money where you can be averagely successful and become amillionairre. Phil Taylor before the last few years took year to win a million now average lads earn 300,000k a year
 
this was the first time I've really watched the worlds in a good 15 years, 2 cracking semis but the only personalities are with the old guard still churning away, the mark william's, john higgins etc, but you don't get the rivalries of say hendry white and of course the great avuncular supremo david "its wages time" vine is also sorely missed. Still, love my snooker.

Agree not saying its a full gone conclusion. Allens the biggest threat IMO, Selby nor Allen can do it over the long week ahead based on this season form IMO, Wilson likely the big threat that side too.

Ah suprised I've never posted in this thread ha! was a bit of a Snooker prodigy in my youth, until I got bored of it when I was 16, ah what could have been.

Really hope Ronnie does it this year, getting 8 and going clear of Hendry would be some fudging achievement.

Will always have a massive soft spot for him, even when he's being a bit of a berk.

I used to play out of a club in Ilford when I was quite young, he would pop in and practice and let me watch and get the colours out the pockets for him, I must have an autograph book full of his signature at my mums somewhere!
