Antonio Conte - officially NOT the coach of THFC

When I talk about my job, colleagues and employer, I use the words "we" and "us", not "they" as I'm part of the team, take responsibility for my area and don't blame others when things go wrong.

I didn't see that in the press conference...
I wouldn't take his latest presser as any indication. Go back to the late 2021/22 and early 22/23 season pressers. I don't know if he says we or us in them either, tbh.

I fully agree
We really are not far off being a top side
Not Emirates Marketing Project level, but no one is
However beat of the rest level with a decent coach and 3/4 signings in the right and obvious areas
The only problem is that it is going to be extremely difficult and expensive to make these signings now that it looks we won't qualify for CL and even struggle to make EL.

it was a team effort, all involved share the credit, and the blame
Never heard the ground so loud and shake the way it did when we went 2-1 up against the Goons that season. I think there was a genuine belief at that moment that we were going to win the league. Only for 10 man Arsenal to come back and silence us meaning at no point that season did we top the league. So typical Spurs and so frustrating but I've never felt such excitement that my team was going places than them first few years under Poch.

Why would it?
There are players available on free that would make us better.
could for max Kilman and I think wolves would sell him for £25m… he would be a big upgrade for our left hand side

We cans still make CL and we will make Europe no matter what IMO

If we had had a deep squad at that time we would have won a trophy. We were fighting on too many fronts with a tiny squad. It wasn't about motivation or players bottling it it was about not being able to change things up at key moments.

In fact in that Champions League final, Kane and Eriksen aside we were unfortunately the weaker team.

I think some fans fail to accept that it does not need the dressing room full of players with the wrong memtality to influence our game. It only needs a couple and IF it is allowed to fester it can spead quickly.

I have been and worked in a lot of dressing rooms at different levels and it DOES happen if you allow it to spread. Poch may/did a lot for us but its pretty obvious that there were problems with the mentality when it came to cup games especially.
Did you not see the team in the Champions League Semi? Coming back from 3 goals down? Didn't look like a mentality problem to me. The simple fact is to blame players is a cop out as they are the weakest part of the system. The board makes decisions on how much money we have to spend and the quality of player we can afford. The manager moulds them into a team capable of winning things. Those 2 things should be examined before we look at Mentality. It's funny how so many "mentally" weak players at Spurs leave and win things elsewhere!

Don't get hung up by the table. It doesn't always tell you the actual picture of how a team is performing and can mask serious underlying issues. The fact we're 4th is more of a fluke than a true measure of our performance, because in terms of performance we're closer to 8th than 4th.
Add to that, the usual teams of chelsea and pool are having a mere. Yet could still finish above us

But the two players you name there were our worst on the day

Who has seen off enough managers? Richarlison? Romero? Forster? Kulu? Lenglet? Skipp? Porro?

You think our problem is son, kane, davies and lloris?

Some sacred cows in there but it would appear so yes.

The first row have only really played under conte. Can't see how they saw off anyone.

I was referring to the second row!
And I don’t mean to offend anyone or be provocative but I think some of our untouchables don’t set the right tone in terms of leadership. And ultimately when it really matters that’s what’s lacking.

That is all well and done but we never won anything and do you not remember all the cup games we lost during Pochs time here. Listen do not get me wrong i am not having a go at Poch and we all loved him but we did not perform in a lot of cup games and the attitude in some of them was shocking. And IMO mentality of players is just as important as ability and allthough its going of on a tanget you only have to look at Ndombele, keep getting told how good a player he is/was but his attitude stunk the place out. And i agree the Champions Lge game was specilal however i wish i could say the same when we played a lot of FA Cup,L cup games and rolled over during the last several years.

Our best team was when redknapp had young and experienced players in the team ... I remember gudjonnson coming on against arsenal at whl and with certainty manning the ship to perfection to see the game out playing in midfield.

Our recruitment mix has been pants amg not enough credit given to season pros coming into the mix to help see games out.

Levy has tried to back the manager of late I give him that but the strategy of getting quality and substance lacks.

Yes, we were only ever top on the live table we led it that game for a brief few minutes. They went to Swansea in the late kick-off and won to go 5pts clear a gap we never really closed due to that pathetic run of games at the end of the season where we continually batted 2nd, including 3 Monday nights on the bounce, so we were never given the chance to put the pressure on before Leciester played their game.
Another helping hand they were offered by the FA

I loved that Redknapp team. We could have done so much better, not fully backed in the Jan window when we were in a decent position and the FA keeping Redknapp dangling. Yes he wanted the England job, you cant blame him, but they knew they wanted Hodgson and should have told HR immediately so they he could get back to managing Spurs

What do you mean all the cup games we lost under Poch? We went further in the cups more regularly under him than at any point in my time watching Spurs meaning we must have won a lot of cup games as well...

That was on Redknapp mate not the FA. He was completely unprofessional and took his eye of the ball. Thought the job was in the bag while still taking a wage from Spurs.

Just seen this posted. Not sure if there is any truth in it

"It seems this morning the club have spoken with Conte and understand the points he was making and his explanation. So it looks like he's staying in his position until June....WOW"

Forget Top 4, Hello 7th in which case we need Fulham or Sheffield United to win the Cup

He'd better get the reaction out of them he's trying for.
