Anthony Martial

I’d argue that Jose trusts certain players more than others because their more “robotic” and do their job

Lukaku is trusted as he does a certain role, Matic too. Neither IMO are anywhere near as good as their rated but they are effective in his system

Players like martial and rashford are attacking players who do lose the ball, do make mistakes and sometimes waste chances... but their work rate is ver6 good whenever I’ve seen them. Maybe it’s just that they don’t stick to a rigid plan
Definitely.
Mourinho's system is purely "he who makes the fewest mistakes, wins".
He doesn't want risk takers.
He wants his team to push on but make zero mistakes, concede zero chances, concede zero goals.
He is the most negative football coach

At least there's still tactics to figure out with Mourinho's games. As fun as watching chess but can be intriguing at times.

Not sure if I dislike watching Liverpool more these days. All about beating the other team on speed difference .no different from basic schoolboy football.

I’d take Lookman over Martial
Got very similar attributes but isn’t anwyhere near as well known. Looked great in Germany and has a generally great record for his age
Rapid and knows where the goal is too...

I like him a lot too, but idk if Silva will let him go now that he replaced Big Fat Sam.

Dele loses it loads......doesn't appear to bother Poch

Yeah, totally agree on this. It's about where you lose the ball/how you do it. It reminded me of the England game yesterday with Rashford. Though he lost the ball a few times, it was always taking on defenders in the final third, trying crazy brick in super dangerous areas (that flip-flap he hit early on was sick). He just never looks like that kinda player for United, and it was so refreshing watching him play in a system that allows him to try things in the right areas.

Actually, Lamela is another who used to get brick for losing the ball too much, but I'd rather have him lose the ball in the opponent's box 4 times and connect with a through-ball on the fifth than always play simple. It's one of the reasons Dele is so productive, basically getting a goal or assist in every game.

Totally different, of course, when it's a CM (Bentaleb springs to mind) losing it in midfield.

bentaleb didn't lose much if i recall correctly. he just flattered to deceive as he played passes back to players but they were often receiving it in bad/awkward positions. carrick and modric are master passers in the sense that they put the ball into play for the receiving player having an advantage over his nearest opponent, or passed it after the opponent had committed thereby setting the receiving player free. its not easy to see on TV but you know it when you are on the pitch.

Obviously, this isn't a Bentaleb thread, but he had a few errors that directly led to goals (United, Norwich spring to mind) and gave a ton away at Schalke too (had something ridiculous like four in five games at Shalke). He was obviously a good passer, but he was often way to casual in that area.

I think united will want nearer £60m. Toby would have helped but that looks to be cooling.

They may want that but with Levy on the case who knows. He would be perfect for us 22 years old, three years experiance of English football and bags of ability.

Of all the players we have been linked with this summer he is the one who would be the best buy ( imo) and i include Bale in that ( who i never thought would end up here anyway)

I think richer clubs probably have bigger fish to fry. I think he's definitely gettable and would be an excellent addition

I’m undecided on him, glad I don’t have to make decisions like this.
Over to Dan and Poch.
